You get hot, delicious fried chicken very quickly at a good price. Only 2 stars? Statistically speaking I get exactly what I order 1 in 4 tries. I know I have gotten takeout here once a month for the last few years and I keep a record. I understand it is hard to get fast food workers these days and this KFC is in a section of the city that has seen better days, think hood adjacent. So competent workers are probably especially hard to get. But after long experience I have "5 pro tips" to help in the process.
Pro Tip #1. Always, always, always check the bag before driving away from the pick-up window at this KFC, Look in the bag to see if you have gotten anything close to what you ordered. My record , (6 of the last 8 orders incorrect).
#2. Try to have, (but not too hard) the order corrected while you sit at the take-out window. They will likely tell you to drive around front and park and will promise to bring the corrected order out to you. This will likely open up an additional series of problems ; like the two waiting spaces will be full of other customers who have gotten incorrect orders and are waiting. Or, if there is a space, you will wait more than 15 minutes only to have a different wrong order brought out to you, or finally after 15 minutes, you get tired of waiting, so you walk into the store, stand in line. Usually this will be behind some one who will want to sample the fries, has a large order with questions like "are the fried pies good?" or "do you make your own gravy?". After a long wait its your turn and you have to give your "wrong order" explanation at the window. The worker acts like she has never heard of such a wild and crazy thing and must consult with her manager before proceeding. More wait time. As unpleasant as this sounds, keep in mind, that not driving around front when requested, will result in a Mexican stare-off at the pick-up window which may be shut on you after a minute. I imagine the KFC clerk has the police on speed dial for customers who refuse to move so I have not tried to pushed it. See don't try too hard. Pro tip #3. Order a standard menu number, no additional items or special requests. If you must deviate, Especially problematic are word that sound similar. Fries and Thighs for example. Better batting average and fewer repeat by saying (without attitude) "French Fries or Chicken Thighs". The standard order may not be what you want but it increases your odds of getting what you order.
Pro tip #4. Do not be too picky. Accept the order if it is something you will enjoy and substantially close.
#5. Accept less than perfect hygiene, for the less imaginative let me give examples of the application of tip #4. and #5.
Not follow pro tip #3, (I guess I was feeling lucky today) my non standard order was 4 chicken thighs with mashed potatoes a diet Pepsi with no ice. When checking the box inside the bag (pro tip # 1.) I notice it has French fries and not mashed potatoes as ordered and also printed on my receipt. I tell the clerk about the error, she looks at me blankly and says ''What". I hold up the French fries and receipt, saying "need mashed potatoes". She says " Give it here". I start to pass her the box of fries. She shakes her head and says "Bag". I hand her the bag. Less than a minute later she hands the bag back and gives me a squinty stare. I give her my best smile and drive off. Tip#5, after I have held the fry box, she has dumped my fries back in the warming bin along with the other fries and put the crushed fry box back in my bag, not perfect hygiene. Following tip # 4. , I drive away knowing I have not gotten exactly what I ordered. In the bag are 2 legs as well as 2 thighs and not the 4 thighs I ordered and my diet Pepsi is mostly ice. Pro tip #4. I will enjoy this and I don't want to be too picky. So why do I buy chicken here? See my first comment, delicious, hot and fast, (the Colonel knew his stuff). I drive right past this location. Also my wife loves it when I bring her KFC take out (but with mashed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreZERO STARS. Iām not the type of person to come and leave reviews but thatās the only things that seems to get the correct persons attention so here I am. We put in a mobile order and left Warner park pool. We headed to KFC to get our order. The lady let us know at the speak they didnāt have any chick and itād be 30 minutes. We placed our order 15 minutes ago at this point. Okay, fine so we head to pick my mom up from work, come back this way and at the point itās been an hour since we placed our order. No one answers us at the speaker so we pull up to the window. This rude young girl busts throw the window to say for us to come in and get our order. We ask why canāt she just hand us an order we placed over an hour ago to us through the drive through. She proceeds to argue us up and down to come inside, pointing fingers all out the window and clink clanking her nails in our face while with a disgusting tone, lets us know that āthat aint got nothing to do with her, she just got here. Thatās why we need to come in because she donāt know nothing about a mobile order or nothingā
Isnāt that literally your job?? Go find out. Iām a manager at Starbucks. I know fast food. I understand service at the speaker and window, and how it works. So I know we were ignored and I know she has no business working in customer service. Or in a place where food is served with those long nails, or the amount of jewelry she had. I canāt even wear my wedding ring with diamonds or having my nails polished. Much less acrylic. None the less, her attitude was disgusting. I mean, imagine someone asks about food they paid for at the job you work at. I mean, my bad! Totally on us...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to state that I am not a Health Inspector, but I have ran a restaurant before.
At the window the woman was VERY rude to begin with. Customer service is hard, but repeating āare you done yetā and sighing after every sentence is ridiculous. Especially whenever the customer is being nice to you. I asked my friend if she wanted anything, and the worker just kept on repeating that question. Like⦠hang on a second. I couldnāt even hear what my friend was saying. My friend got so frustrated to the point where she didnāt even order anything.
Here comes the fun part. (It was the same woman over the speaker).
She handed me the wrong drinks. Again, Iāve run a restaurant before. Handing out wrong drinks happens, BUT she took it back through the window and just sat it aside. Seriously? I am 99% sure she handed that drink to the customer behind me. At least pour it out and make a new one. Then, I get the food. As I am checking to see if my food is right she asked to check the food! She took the food and brought it back through the window! LUCKILY it was the correct food, and she handed it to me. What would have happened if it wasnāt the correct food though? I was touching the food! Would she hand it to a different customer whenever my hands touched everything?
I am a very clean person. I always sanitize and wash my hands whenever I can, but not everybody does that. If I was the GM I would have her fired or taken out...
