This is a great place to eat; the setting is quite romantic. My cousin and I were heading to a diner a few doors down as we were starving, but their menu didn't have what we were looking for, so we went for pizza at this pizzaria. La Piovra (Italian for "The Octopus") is more than a pizza place; it has delicious Italian dishes. We ordered mussels in the chef's special sauce that's better than the traditional red & white sauces. We had European seabass called "branzino"; the meat had a sweet taste with few bones. Of course, we also ordered a pizza with truffle cheese, which we didn't finish, so we packed it for his kids. For dessert, we had tiramisu. Because we were the ones there that late Thursday evening, we got to speak with the chef and his wife. They're overseeing the restaurant for the owner. They speak Italian fluently and from Albania. Absolutely amazing chef and super delicious food. I highly recommend this gem. On some Fridays and the weekends, there's a live band...
Read moreExcellent restaurant. The staff are very friendly- Rina, our server, elevated our dining experience and felt us feel right at home, despite the evening rush. The food is fantastic and the prices are decent for the high quality and presentation. The speed of service, despite how much business they get, is very quick. The pizza was incredible-easily the best I've had in the area. The steak was a little closer to well done than medium rare, so I'll order rare next time. The grilled vegetables served on the side were unctuous, smokey, juicy, and flavorful. The tres leches cake and cappuccino paired perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great Italian/Albanian dining experience. I am stoked to try the margherita next- I have no doubt that it will...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I come to the restaurant quite often! Rina, her husband, her father, their daughter, and all staff are amazing! If you walked out or passed by this restaurant, you NEED to try it out! As an ex waitress, sometimes it’s a good idea to make a reservation on a Friday/Saturday night. They have plenty of space to serve you and those you’re with. I know sometimes people can get hopped up because “they’re not getting waited on”, but trust me, they know you’re there, just be patient and the food is always worth it! They’re always accommodating when it comes to your food and choices.
This is THE ONLY restaurant that’s survived this area. I’ve been in this area since 1995 and there have been MANY restaurants here.
