Would've rated higher, but unfortunately experienced, just a few minutes ago, an instance of when civility and simple decency is forgone, in favor of self-righteous condescension. Living just around the corner, on south avenue, I have patronized this establishment since they set up shop on Greenwood, replacing Linda Jean's. Each time my family and I have eaten there, we've been treated with courtesy and respect; this is important because errors, when processing an order, can be more easily forgiven, and this HAS happened on a few occasions. Typically we sit outside, have an attendant come take our orders, and have our food brought to us; just EIGHT days ago, on 5/24, @ approximately 1 p.m., myself, my 1 & 3 year-olds, and our dogs, stopped there, as we were returning home from a walk, and the emoyees, true to main street's motto, treated us like family! An attendant brought us out a bin, with menus, straws, napkins, condiments, etc., took our orders, and later, after another customer expressed concern, EVEN BROUGHT A BOWL OF COLD WATER OUT FOR OUR DOGS! However, just a few minutes ago, in a similar circumstance, my wife and I took the kids there, I was told by an "alyssa", that they "didn't take orders outside", and that all orders had to be placed inside, @ the register. This would not have been that huge of a deal, had I not received the self-important, condescending responses I received, when I cited my prior experiences to the contrary; including the most recent one of just 8 days prior. Alyssa's responses ranged from, "That's not true, we never do that," to, 'Well whoever did that for you should not have done that; they were wrong!" When I was finally hit with, "I've worked here so-and-so number of years, and I PROMISE you, we've never done that," as if I was making the entire thing up, I had enough. I don't know if she thought I would attempt a dine and dash, laden as I was with wife, kids, dogs, and stroller, but I walked out and told my wife we were leaving, and going to the cafe across the street. My sons had been promised one of their shakes, which they love, so my wife ordered that, a lemonade, and some pizza to go. When I arrived home, I called to attempt to speak to a manager, and after i was apparently recognized as the individual who had just left, was told that the store had no such designations; at which point the phone was given to alyssa, who proclaimed herself the manager of the Saturday morning/early afternoon shift! Dont know if i'll be back, but it's important for businesses to remember that consumers are who keep them thriving, and that it is PARAMOUNT to maintain good relations within local communities. Unfortunately I'm SURE alyssa's retort would be somewhere along the lines of, 'So what? We don't need you! You're merely 1 of many; we've got PLENTY of other customers!" Not feeling much like part of the "family" anymore; wondering if I'll receive...
Read moreOverpriced bar food at best. Questionable meat in the burger. Ate about half, later landed in the bathroom. Chicken sandwich w/ spinach and provolone was gross. Canned spinach on top, barely drained. Most the cheese was stuck on the paper the sandwich came in. Called to request partial refund on a larger order, told them what and why I was bringing back, and was politely told yes to bring it in. Brought back the 1/2 of a burger (that was cut with a knife) and 3/4ths of the nasty chicken sandwich (also cleanly cut). Proceeded to get screamed at by the 'owner' in front of his staff (kitchen and counter) about how there is something wrong with me vs. his nasty bar food. Apparently the sandwiches were 'top quality all around' and 'picture worthy' as an example of the establishment. When he was confronted with the option to 'taste one of the sandwiches' to see what I was talking about, he would not. Just goes to show, guy doesn't even want to eat his own food. No doubt a staff member would have been fired on the spot if they would have spoken to a customer in such a manner. An excellent example the owner is setting! They could've just said, 'no, sorry, we're not taking it back', and I wouldn't have wasted my time to go back. Complete order was refunded despite the fact I initially requested a partial refund. The Owner must of missed that since I barely got a word in over his screaming tantrum. Here is your payment for what we did eat. Wasn't our first time eating there, but certainly our last (We're banned now!!). Much better places in and around the area. Wouldn't risk this place before hopping on...
Read moreNot gonna give a 1 or 2 star because I actually enjoy your food. Tonight though, I had a pretty bad experience. I ordered through Door Dash and ordered a regular chicken steak for my boyfriend and a vegan steak for myself. When I opened mine, all I could smell was 100% real beef but thought maybe they just get a really good imitation steak. I was too nervous to continue without clarification so I called and told the girl I received a meat steak instead of meatless. The girl was very nice but told me that if it was cut like fajita-style meat then it was in fact their vegetarian/vegan beef. I told her, "I'm not sure, I've been vegetarian for a while now and I can just tell by the fat and the way this meat breaks that it's real". She said she would check and ensured that what she had told me firstly was accurate. I had my bf try it and he told me that it is definitely real meat. I love your food but you guys need to be cautious with situations like this. I am pretty sensitive to animal products so had I believed what she said and eaten this, I would have gotten seriously ill. I also ordered through Door Dash so not sure how to now go about getting my money back. I will call again tomorrow to inform you guys that the info you told me was wrong. "Vegan" was not only written on the receipt but also the paper/foil wrapper on the steak, so I'm not sure how tou guys made...
