Order: al pastor tacos steak tacos steak quesadilla quesabirria tacos
Total: ~70 with a 5 dollar tip.
Honestly, I was excited about a new food truck popping up so close to home. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. I live close by and would love for this place to become a favorite, so I will be leaving a critical review in hopes to see some improvements:
The quesabirria tacos were good, although a bit on the bland side compared with others I’ve had before. I think the consomé was lacking some flavor, or the salsa was just not able to bring it to the next level.
The Al pastor tacos had a weird after taste to them. My wife believes it might be because they use canned pineapples, but it could be something else. It was prominent enough that we actually couldn’t eat them at all. That said, even putting the weird after taste aside, the meat did not have a lot of flavor in general. The salsa didn’t help. I am from Monterrey Mexico though, so I do have high standards for Al pastor tacos. It could just be me.
The steak tacos were decent. Not very flavorful but not bad, and no weird aftertaste. That said, I don’t know what kind of meat they used but it definitely didn’t seem flavorful enough to be called steak. Beef tacos could be more accurate.
Unfortunately, I cannot rate the quesadillas as my kids devoured it. They said it was good though. Take that with a grain of salt though cause well they kids.
We got green salsa with the order. It was not bad but it was also not very flavorful. Sadly, it was not spicy at all either.
If I could provide some advice to the owners, it would be this:
You are competing with restaurants around here like Mariachi San Lucas, AXO, and Tejas Grill. Your prices are not much different either, so you’re at a disadvantage by not having a building. If you’re going to be competitive, you have to raise the food quality. Don’t cheap out on the meat cuts. And come up with more...
Read moreWow what a hidden GEM in a local gas station I've never purchased gas from. First off the truck is clean and signage is on point to make it easy to order. Nice size menu as well. Second the service was friendly and the woman answered any questions we had. They even helped us with call ahead ordering for next time by providing a phone # to text. Third the food was made fresh to order. I ordered the Queso Birra Tacos. The shells are cooked to a nice crisp and the meat and cheese is exploding out so there is plenty of food. It also had fresh herbs and to combine the sweet taste as well. Definitely the best Birra tacos I've had to date. There hours are incredible. 11a-8p Mon-Sat. I can't wait to try something next time. I will be...
Read moreWell, it is a food truck located in the parking lot of the Multani gas station on Burnt Mill Rd. and appears as though it is a husband and wife team. The menu has burritos, tacos, etc. All food is made to order and large portions. I had the Quesadilla Alpastore and it was outstanding. I will be back to try more. If you are in the...
