I first noticed this Little Caesars restaurant under construction in Liberty Plaza Shopping Center a couple months ago. The shopping center is located at the intersection of Liberty Street and Old Atlantic Avenue in the SoNo section of Chesapeake. Other businesses at this address include a Chinese restaurant, convenience store, Dollar Tree and a few other shops. I traverse these streets on my morning commute to work so I kept up with the steady progress on the construction until they opened for business a few weeks ago.
I confess I had never visited a Little Caesars restaurant in my life. My experience was limited to sharing the occasional $5 Hot-N-Ready pepperoni or cheese pies that friends or coworkers would pick up. These pizzas never impressed me, I always thought they were bland and tasteless so I never intended to visit a location myself. This location is very convenient for me, I can drive there in less than five minutes. A couple of friends encouraged me to give them a try so today I did just that. I downloaded the app on my phone, made an account, provisioned it with a credit card and placed an order to pick up contact-free at their Pizza Portal. It was quick and easy. After I placed my order the app indicated that they were more busy than usual so it may take a little longer than 20 minutes. It indicated I would receive email and push notifications when it was ready to pick up. I went to the store and spent my time waiting by snapping some pictures and setting up a Yelp page for the business.
Upon arriving I could see that they were very busy. Customers were coming in and out at a steady pace. There was a note posted on the wall asking customers to be patient with new employees who were not able to receive the normal corporate training due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID-19 policies. The employees I observed appeared to be efficient and working well together however I was concerned that one was not wearing a mask at all, one had her mask hanging below her chin and the other two were wearing them properly.
Let's get to the food. I ordered the Deep Dish Ultimate Supreme which is a large Detroit-style deep dish pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. I also ordered the Garlic-Parmesan Caesar Wings. It was ready after 30 minutes which I felt was reasonable. I drove home and dug right in. Everything was fresh and hot. The wings were very average. They were swimming in sauce without a hint of crispness. They were fall-off-the-bone tender but just didn't appeal much to my wife and me. Your mileage may vary as we just don't care much for this style of wings. The pizza is a different story. I was very impressed. The rectangular crust was nice and thick and imparted a satisfying crunch to the bite. The topping portions were very generous with lots and lots of cheese and just the right amount of sauce. All the flavors combined into a medley of pure satisfaction. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this pie.
I am happy to have another food choice in the neighborhood. I will definitely place more orders in the future. I want to try some of the round crusts and the Italian Cheese Bread looks interesting too. Welcome to the neighborhood,...
Read moreMy boyfriend went in to get pizza for us, his kid and his friends. There were two people ahead of us waiting for an employee to take their order. It took 10 minutes for the people ahead of us to get their order taken. While everyone was waiting, the staff were cleaning and making their own food and eating it instead of doing their job taking orders and making food. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting we got our food. We wanted two orders of wings as well and the employee taking the order said they only had one so my BF asked if they could cook another and they said no. Another customer came in to get their order they did online and they had wings and the employee said they were all out. So they double checked the order and saw they got wings and started cooking their wings but yet they wouldn’t cook wings for our order… 0/5 stars would not recommend!!! They should hire all new employees then maybe it would be a better...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I placed an online order for pickup yesterday. It said it would be ready in 27 minutes (at the most). I walked in with my app saying it was in the oven for over 35 minutes. The front desk worker stated immediately all orders aer 45 minutes to an hour. I stated I ordered on the app, he apologized. He wasn't the issue. The back staff was nonstop yelling and cussing the entire time I was in there. I was by far THE WORST experience I've EVER had at any Little Ceasars. I willl never return to that location again. Plus I believed my pizza was pulled out before cooking all the way because 2 slices was white with moderately cooked cheese and not hot to the touch like the rest of the pizza. From when I placed my order on the app to when I walked outside with pizza in hand, it was...
