So I placed an order online. In the space for special instructions I asked for no onions in the salad and an extra cup of meat sauce on the side for the spaghetti dinner. I thought that the drivers worked for the restaurant so I included in the already generous tip extra money for the meat sauce. Found out after the fact that they're not one in the same. No biggie. Instead of Sal's calling to inform me that that the driver amount was separate from the restaurant and that the charge was $3 for the extra sauce the order was sent incomplete. When I called the restaurant the person on the phone proceeds to argue with me about the request. In my mind, I have $3 and you have my credit card info, email address and phone number. Had you just notified me I would have authorized the additional charge. Instead he gets irate. Why are you upset that I'm offering to pay the $3? Honestly folks, I still really wanted the sauce. After two minutes of him talking in circles I hang up but not without letting him know that he's lost my business. He says ok. You can't offer to accommodate special requests, forget to do the request and expect 5 stars. And I have ZERO patience for people who work in the service industry but don't understand customer service. Now you know. Update: So right after I hit the save button on this review my doorbell rings. On my welcome mat I find a small container of meat sauce...no driver and no it wasn't $3 worth. So my guess is that they pulled the order ticket to see the two separate places I requested the additional sauce including in the delivery instructions where I told the driver to pay for my meat sauce and keep the rest for his tip. Unfortunately, the experience left me frustrated and you couldn't pay me to use this sauce after fighting with someone in the kitchen. That's okay Sal's I'm good. Read moreUsually don’t leave reviews but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any retailer. The owner of the restaurant does not care about his customers he just wants their money. I ordered delivery here two nights ago and received my delivery 1.5 hours after it was placed. Didn’t mind the wait but was disappointed when we opened up the pizza box and it was completely cold and stale. The cheese fries were also cold and the cheese was so hardened even microwaving didn’t help. The mozzarella sticks were over cooked to the point that it was just hollow breading, no cheese in the middle. By the time the delivery arrived the restaurant was closed so we couldn’t call to get a replacement. I called the next morning as soon as they opened to get a refund or the order remade. The owner refused a refund and only offered to remake the mozzarella sticks. He was very rude over the phone, kept talking over me, told me I was lying and that I should’ve called when the delivery arrived even after I explained the restaurant was closed at that point. He eventually told me he was unable to give me the refund but I can speak with the district manager the next day as he comes in at 3. I called at 3 only to find out he lied and there is no district manager, the establishment is privately owned. He then lied again and told me refunds go through the delivery company that delivered the pizza only for me to call them and find out the owner refused the refund and the delivery company couldn’t do anything about it. I understand mistakes happen, but when the owner refuses to fix the mistake his restaurant made, that’s when I have an issue. Now I’m down over $50 for food that we didn’t even eat and I feel completely disrespected as a customer. When I arrive the little hostess just asked to me to sign my receipt then handed the food over. I get home only to notice the toppings on my pizza are in the very middle of this 20 inch pie. Who makes pizza like this? Then I realized they gave me a salad that I didn't order and was missing something that I did order..so needless to say this surprise is over for my lady. I called back to let them know that I had just left there 20 mins ago and that lil hostess turns the phone away to tell whoever that I left an hour ago and my food is wrong. Are you serious?? After I drive all the way back to Sals, they remake the entire meal(no point in taking cold wings back home) and I look through everything this time, and see that they gave me ranch sauce (and I said no dipping sauce) and they only gave me one marinara(which I asked for extra in my order). I couldn't believe the guy tried to tell me it was almost $1 more for extra and told me that I asked for it and didn't pay for it. Excuse me!! You all have inconvenience me and I paid $60 for some mediocre food and left a cash tip and yet you're still trying to charge me for your screw up? If that lil hostess had been doing her job, she would've known that she needed to let me know that there was a charge for extra sauce but she didn't say anything. She was outside when I arrived and back outside before I left the 1st time. She let it be known that it was 830 and she was clocking out.
