I love this place and I don't know how to say it any differently! There's not a lot in the city of Chester. There was/is another Sabor location in Richburg and that is not terribly far by any means, but to have one that's only 3-4 minutes from my home... Amazing!! My girlfriend and I visited last week and the food was top notch. I had the pollo fundito and she got flautas. We were looking for a quick bite and a few drinks. The atmosphere is great and our server was extremely attentive and very outgoing but not over the top. I went back the next night to have a few drinks at the bar and get some takeout. Their bartender Elvis is top notch. Super funny and really good at what he does. I ordered some Pollo con camarones and some wings to go. I was shocked by how good the quality of the chicken wings were! I ordered mild's wings, not too wet and they were honestly exactly what I imagined. They know what they're doing. Chicken wings from a Mexican restaurant would never be something I would opt in for, but the people at the bar were giving them plenty of praise so I went for it. So glad I did! This place is amazing on so many levels. I will probably be back there in the next few days. I would like to try the beef offerings because the richburg location provided such good food in that regard. I'm sure the Chester location will be as good if not better. I highly recommend, but if you live in Chester you are most likely...
Read moreSabor Latino appears to be pretty new and there were things to like -- but not everything. I ordered the Chile Colorado, and was disappointed. The bartender made a funny face when I ordered it, so I asked if she was making a face because it was spicy. She said yes, too spicy for her. I said, "GREAT, I like it spicy." So the plate was delivered and it looked good. The color of the sauce was a beautiful dark red. The meat appeared to be a little overcooked, but turned out to be tender after all. The problem, though, was that the sauce was as mild as KETCHUP. Even the salsa delivered with the chips was spicier than the Chile Colorado! There was absolutely ZERO spiciness to it at all. The other person in the group ordered birria tacos, and those turned out to be very good. If you're going to visit Sabor Latino, stick to the simple things like birria tacos because they either don't know HOW to make Chile Colorado or they are afraid of hurting...
Read moreFood was okay at best, very bland I got the taco salad. The servers were not very attentive and honestly a little rude. Right off They traded our table (of 2) from the girl who initially when taking our drink orders looked at my best friend and said to her “He’s lame isn’t he?” When I asked for sweet tea instead of alcohol. I don’t hide my facial expressions well at all, because I was a little offended. It was my best friends birthday and I was her DD, and I believe she asked the taller guy to take our food orders instead. I definitely cleaned my plate because I was starving but that’s the only reason it was cleared. The sweet tea however was phenomenal, and at the end I really wanted a to-go sweet tea because tall guy basically ignored us the rest of our meal. Homeboy brought me an empty styrofoam cup to I guess pour my half drank sweet tea into. Never been here prior and I don’t think I’ll return. Los Magueyes is better...
