Los Magueyes — Restaurant in Chester

I came in and placed a large order to go. To start, my husband has a poultry allergy so we are quite cautious to ensure cross contamination won’t happen. The man who took my order (I assume the owner, he was very kind, attentive and accommodating!) ensured cross contamination would not happen. That’s a win even if the food wasn’t the best. However! Let me tell you.. I ordered ACP with chicken Tex mex style (with peppers, onions, tomato and mushrooms) and the chicken was seasoned SO WELL. I dont care for bland food and am always shocked when I receive very basic dishes seasoned well, dining out. Not spicy, but seasoned. 10/10! Then there’s my husbands steak fajitas. Wow! The steak was so tender (I took multiple bites) and again, seasoned so well. My parents both got quesadillas and were enjoyable as well. I never write reviews, but reading the google reviews (and responses from the restaurant) led us to come here instead of our normal El Poblano in Newberry when we come to visit. Let me tell you, we will be back and I have a feeling yall will be our new “go-to”. Thanks again! Our dinner...

First the good news - The place looks really nice and is comfortable, servers were very nice, prices were good and the portion sizes were huge.

Bad news - Margarita was HUGE but I truly believe there was zero alcohol in it. It was purely margarita mix. I am extremely sensitive to alcohol, to the point where my family makes fun of me because I get drunk off the neck of a beer. I drank the WHOLE margarita and felt absolutely nothing. And even more telling... my face/neck didn't get red and blotchy at all! HUH?? I'm telling you, one sip of wine and I have tomato cheeks. This was disappointing. Also, the beef did resemble dog food. Not extremely tasty at all. Sorry, I think 3 stars...

We visited a week ago and had wonderful food and reasonable service. Tonight we go around the same time and have to ask for menus after being there about 10 minutes. Ok they weren't that busy. Then a few more people came in and sat close by. After 20 minutes we finally get our order taken. As did the table behind us. 40 minutes in and the other table has been served and we are on our 3rd drink refill. Really. 50 minutes and still no food saw us asking to pay for the drinks so we can leave. They only had one cook she said. Sorry but that is not acceptable unless you tell us when we come in that it will take longer. And cook the orders...
