Italian Garden Of Chester — Restaurant in Chester

Not a place I would ever go back to. We drove almost half an hour to get there from a hotel in the next town over. I'm giving one star (I would rather give none) because our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She got a good tip. As for the owner, my tip for YOU, clean your restaurant. I've never been to a food establishment this dirty. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept in days. The fabric covered chairs were absolutely disgusting... Stained and so very grimy. I HATED THE THOUGHT OF THEM TOUCHING THE BACK OF MY BARE LEGS. I literally watched two separate couples walk in, went to seat themselves and quickly walked out after I watched them look down and saw the state of the floors. The best part about our meal was the salad that my mother ordered. The mozzarella sticks were over done to the point of hurting or gums when we bit into them and the pizza barely had any sauce on it. I can't imagine they were just having an off day. The debris and bits of food and garbage all over the floor had been there a while... Not just from a lunch rush. Before you question why we stayed, my father is severely handicapped and he had already situated himself into his seat by the time I had assessed the state of the restaurant. Maybe carry out is the way to go?? but I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. One last note. I don't think the air conditioning was working either. It was HOT inside. Not just heat from the kitchen or from the door opening...

This was the second time that we have ate there and the staff and food was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was Kelly and she was very attentive to us. There was six of us and we did not want for anything. We had two friends from New York with us and they definitely new their food as well, plus an Italian as well and we were totally satisfied with everything. The owner came out to meet us and talk with our friends from New York because he was from there as well. The food we ordered were small portions but when it came out we thought it was large portions. We thought oh my gosh would hate to see what a large portion would look like if these were small portions. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone to go and eat. I know every time we want to go to an Italian restaurant it will be in Chester South Carolina. Thank you all for taking such good care of us Kelly and to the owner you are truly an amazing cook and a wonderful person. Thank you and keep up your great job at just being a wonderful person and having such a great personality because it hardly ever that businesses owners come out to meet their customers and for that , you are a real person and deserve to continue to strive in this business. I ordered a Large spinach Calzone. When everyone’s food came out the waitress asked what myself and the person sitting beside me had ordered. We both were supposed to get Large calzones. She stayed that calzones usually take longer. So after about 8 minutes my friend received his calzone and I still got nothing. She asks again what I ordered, so I repeat my order a third time to her. Approximately 10 minutes later I received a SMALL calzone. Everyone else at our table was done eating by then. I stated that I shouldn’t have to pay. They wouldn’t waive the cost of my late incorrect order so we had to pay for the wrong calzone that came out several minutes after everyone else was done eating. The restaurant wasn’t packed at all. Needless to say I won’t be going back and I believe this place deserves 0 stars but the lowest I could select was one star. I have never written a good or bad review on a restaurant before but this was the worst experience...
