2nd visit: so I tried them again in another visit. Got the original chicken parm sandwich this time and a tomato pie. The chicken parm again lacked mozzarella, barely any on it. The chicken was also dry and not a fan of the marinara sauce on it. It was also heavy with chunks of onions. Tomato pie definitively not one of the best ones. The dough was very tough and chewy and not a fan of the sauce. Sadly this will be my last visit. Had very high hopes for this place as I went to the Gervasios in Hamilton when I was younger.
Growing up, the Gervasios in Hamilton was a favorite place of mine my father used to take me too. I always ordered the same thing that was my favorite, which was a chicken parm dinner. I can’t ever really recall if I had the pizza lol? Tonight, I finally got to stop in and try the new Gervasios. I ordered the Godfather cutlet sandwich with fries. Which is basically a chicken parm sub but with vodka sauce instead of marinara. I give it a 3 out of 5 because it lacked sauce and mozzarella. There definitely wasn’t enough and good portions of that sandwich was bare breaded cutlet. Ehhhhh…..Its pricey too at $17 for what you get. Originally I saw the other photo posted here in the reviews, of the other person who ordered this sandwich and said to myself that looks like a big sandwich for the price. However, mine was much smaller in portion size which was disappointing. The sandwich was very good but won’t order again because it’s not worth the high price. I will be coming to try them out again in the future but my next visit will be a pizza...
Read moreThis place really needs to start taking reservations. I called to ensure they had tables available (I have an infant so I couldn't come if there was a wait). I was put on hold and then told yes they have 3 to 4 tables open. I said great be there in 5 minutes. I came within 5 minutes and every table was full except for one being cleared. I said "Im the woman that just called, you said there were tables available for us??? But ok we'll just wait for you to clean that table...." was then told there were 3 groups ahead of us?!? We had to leave. There was no way our baby would wait that long and then through dinner too. It's a shame...we have had their pizza and salad which are very good. I really wanted to try their entrees but with that kind of service I doubt Ill be back. Being a new mom is hard enough and time is precious...they wasted mine by telling me to come in and then not...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times and it’s OK but definitely not special. Nice atmosphere, parking is easy. Food is sort of dry. Normally when I think of Italian food I think very saucy. But everything is so dry here. Chicken parm is like the Sahara dessert. Service is friendly but a little bit too much focus on friendliness and not enough on getting things right and you often have to ask for plates etc. I would say sort of a light shallow type of service. Personally I prefer the Greek type of service where they’re not so friendly but will focus totally on getting things right. The best way is summarize this place is Olive Garden but 15% more expensive. It’s good if you want to eat in but don’t want to drive down to Princeton. Avoid the Ceaser salad at all costs some weird dressing they put on it. Overall I’d say worth a try, you might find something you like, but don’t expect...
