We met friends here for dinner and hubs and I split a small pizza with tomatoes and onions and a small house salad. It was the perfect size for us! He ate four pieces of pizza and I ate two (one piece was a little bigger than the others), The sauce was a nice sweet sauce and there was lots of cheese with tiny diced tomatoes. We got to choose between white and red onions. We chose red, and they weren't too hot, so we were pleased. They had several crust types to choose from.
The salad was quite big; head lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, cheese, and croutons, and the ranch dressing was quite tasty.
Our friends split an XL sausage and cheese pizza and it was plenty big for the three of them. It probably could have easily fed four, five, six, depending on how hungry you are.
I believe that pizza isn't as good unless you drink root beer with it. The root beer was soooo good (of course, I haven't had a root beer in ages). This was definitely an excellent recommendation. Next time we're in town, we'll return.
The only issue we had was the volume level was quite loud. The ceilings are high and not finished, so the voices bounce all over the place, only getting louder and louder, and then you have to speak louder in order to be heard by the person sitting next to you, and it's a vicious circle. If they just lowered the ceilings or put in sound dampening panels, it would be much...
Read moreIâve been enjoying AJs for years but this will likely be my last visit. (I am basically being kicked out.) I called ahead and asked to have an order ready for when I arrived. The guy on the phone was confused at first but after I explained, he said that was fine. (Dining alone is never super fun and I have a ton of papers to grade so I was trying to be efficient with my time.) Upon arrival I was seated immediately as most of the dining room was empty. I told the hostess I had ordered ahead and she then said I had to come back up to the front to pay. I complied. Then a person with green ponytails came and told me they donât allow people to order ahead and eat here. (THIS PLACE IS MOSTLY EMPTY.) So I said fine, Iâll take it to go. REALLY?! This place is super empty!!! I donât know why I ordered ahead anyway because I donât think they even started my order until after I had arrived. I had planned to stop here during a slow time because other restaurants have been happy to let me order ahead and eat when I arrive. (If itâs during a slow time anyway, whatâs the difference?!)
At any rate, thanks, AJs for making dining alone even more miserable...which I hardly thought...
Read moreService is great and friendly. Jordan was attentive and helpful. Food was tasty and reasonably portioned. Prices are also quite reasonable compared to so many restaurants that are pricing food as gourmet o e-off menu items that are standard ingredients with a different presentation. At AJs, the menu has options from healthy salad, to savory pizzas and Italian beef and other sandwiches. Lunch and dinner are great times to visit. There is ample seating inside and additional outdoor patio seating as well. Tables can handle 2-10+ with adjustment. Ingredients were of quality, and adding any of your personal favorites will ensure that sandwiches and pizzas are tailored just the way you like. The open bar area is self seating with a few TVs for some sports and full menu service is provided there and throughout the restaurant. Bathrooms were clean and accessible at the front. Parking was also ample, but even if it gets a bit busy, locals and staff create additional parking on grassy areas further away. Worth a stop for a hometown meal with...
