I really like the food, although it sucks seeing wilted veggies. This post is primarily about Kayla's customer service. I really like going into Halo's, but I forget about all my negative experiences when the food is good, but today I left unhappy and will need to delay my future visits to a new poke place. I went in there today, and I was on the phone with my mom. Although I noticed that her attitude off the bad was like: OMG, he is on the phone in my restaurant. So I felt uneasy off the bat. To set up my order for today, I told Kayla I wanted a pokebowl and 3 sides of Seaweed salad plus the additional side that comes with the Poke bowl. Im getting poke. Ok, the first thing I chose my base is mixed greens and brown rice. And so when she gets the brown rice, I notice that the greens are wilted, I tell her right away that I only want brown rice. I don't mention why, but the emotions she gives off are annoyed and unwilling to give me a pleasant experience. Next, I choose my sides and protein. I am asked about sauces, and I keep making the mistake of saying ponzu sauce and spicy mayo, but they don't have that, and I see her face is annoyed that I can not get it right. Next, I ask for my sides and do not mention the seaweed salad. And without even asking if I want the 4 scoops in another container like I get normally, which i like, since the seaweed salad is for my girlfriend, she just starts dumping the 4 scoops of seaweed salad on my pokebowl. And then starts smashing down, trying to compress it all in one container. I didn't say anything because she has already been very unenjoyable, and I know if I say anything, she will blow up on me. While she was squishing it all together and struggling, I mentioned, "It's OK if you put it in another container," and she denied any outside perspective from her customer. At that point, I knew I couldn't come back again if she works here. Sorry Kayla it's not cool to come to work and right away are super disappointed to have a job and bring that negative energy to other customers in...
Read moreHi! This is Brii that the previous review under this one was talking about. She stated I was rude and cut her off. When I answered the phone I attempted to greet her, “Hi, thanks for calling Halos, can I get a name for the order” but she answered the phone immediately order her food. So we talked over each other. I understand she could be in rush! So, I let her continue. On our order system, I cannot do anything until I get a name for the order and after that it takes me to the menu to put her order in. So, I let finish talking about the first plate she wanted and then asked her for a name before she ordered the second. I kindly asked, “Can I get a name please” and she was immediately mad. She said her name harshly but I still remained civil, kind and appropriate. I said “Okay! I got that first plate, what was the next one” and she said “Well I was going to tell you that” angerly. “I said sorry, I need the name first before taking the order” & she said “well you should’ve started with that”. I told her “I did” and she said “Well I didn’t hear you” (Which, ofcourse she didn’t, she didn’t let me talk when the phone call started) & then she asked “What’s your name?” And I gave her my name because I know I didn’t do anything wrong. She completely over exaggerated this situation, it was a misunderstanding because we talked over eachother but she must not know how to be a civil and understanding person! Have a great day, and p.s. Halos is great. Come...
Read moreI got dinner from Halo Hawaiian for the first time last night, and I will likely not be back. They're open until 9:30pm, and when we walked in around 8pm they were extremely busy with a line of people as well as others coming in to pick up to-go orders. Good sign, right? For some reason, it seemed like they were doing closing procedures in the middle of this madness... 90 mins before they actually closed. All of the buckets of ingredients were pulled out of the display area and placed randomly across all of the counters. From a food safety perspective, this gave me the ick. Like, one of the employees was preparing a poke bowl and scooped poke from a container that was sitting open next to the register?? I envisioned Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares screaming, "You're going to kill someone!" It just didn't look safe. Needless to say, I didn't order the poke. A few containers of toppings were empty and we were asked if we were ok skipping the item rather than the staff retrieving more from the back. The whole experience was odd... and after all that, the bowl...
