I really like the food, although it sucks seeing wilted veggies. This post is primarily about Kayla's customer service. I really like going into Halo's, but I forget about all my negative experiences when the food is good, but today I left unhappy and will need to delay my future visits to a new poke place. I went in there today, and I was on the phone with my mom. Although I noticed that her attitude off the bad was like: OMG, he is on the phone in my restaurant. So I felt uneasy off the bat. To set up my order for today, I told Kayla I wanted a pokebowl and 3 sides of Seaweed salad plus the additional side that comes with the Poke bowl. Im getting poke. Ok, the first thing I chose my base is mixed greens and brown rice. And so when she gets the brown rice, I notice that the greens are wilted, I tell her right away that I only want brown rice. I don't mention why, but the emotions she gives off are annoyed and unwilling to give me a pleasant experience. Next, I choose my sides and protein. I am asked about sauces, and I keep making the mistake of saying ponzu sauce and spicy mayo, but they don't have that, and I see her face is annoyed that I can not get it right. Next, I ask for my sides and do not mention the seaweed salad. And without even asking if I want the 4 scoops in another container like I get normally, which i like, since the seaweed salad is for my girlfriend, she just starts dumping the 4 scoops of seaweed salad on my pokebowl. And then starts smashing down, trying to compress it all in one container. I didn't say anything because she has already been very unenjoyable, and I know if I say anything, she will blow up on me. While she was squishing it all together and struggling, I mentioned, "It's OK if you put it in another container," and she denied any outside perspective from her customer. At that point, I knew I couldn't come back again if she works here. Sorry Kayla it's not cool to come to work and right away are super disappointed to have a job and bring that negative energy to other customers in...

Hi! This is Brii that the previous review under this one was talking about. She stated I was rude and cut her off. When I answered the phone I attempted to greet her, “Hi, thanks for calling Halos, can I get a name for the order” but she answered the phone immediately order her food. So we talked over each other. I understand she could be in rush! So, I let her continue. On our order system, I cannot do anything until I get a name for the order and after that it takes me to the menu to put her order in. So, I let finish talking about the first plate she wanted and then asked her for a name before she ordered the second. I kindly asked, “Can I get a name please” and she was immediately mad. She said her name harshly but I still remained civil, kind and appropriate. I said “Okay! I got that first plate, what was the next one” and she said “Well I was going to tell you that” angerly. “I said sorry, I need the name first before taking the order” & she said “well you should’ve started with that”. I told her “I did” and she said “Well I didn’t hear you” (Which, ofcourse she didn’t, she didn’t let me talk when the phone call started) & then she asked “What’s your name?” And I gave her my name because I know I didn’t do anything wrong. She completely over exaggerated this situation, it was a misunderstanding because we talked over eachother but she must not know how to be a civil and understanding person! Have a great day, and p.s. Halos is great. Come...

I got dinner from Halo Hawaiian for the first time last night, and I will likely not be back. They're open until 9:30pm, and when we walked in around 8pm they were extremely busy with a line of people as well as others coming in to pick up to-go orders. Good sign, right? For some reason, it seemed like they were doing closing procedures in the middle of this madness... 90 mins before they actually closed. All of the buckets of ingredients were pulled out of the display area and placed randomly across all of the counters. From a food safety perspective, this gave me the ick. Like, one of the employees was preparing a poke bowl and scooped poke from a container that was sitting open next to the register?? I envisioned Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares screaming, "You're going to kill someone!" It just didn't look safe. Needless to say, I didn't order the poke. A few containers of toppings were empty and we were asked if we were ok skipping the item rather than the staff retrieving more from the back. The whole experience was odd... and after all that, the bowl...

1st time trying this place. Wife wanted a poke bowl so we came here. She got rice, salmon, poke sauce, ginger, imitation crab, cilantro, and so on. They give you quite a bit of food, as they should for $15. Salmon was fresh, bowl was very tasty. I got the bbq chicken and pork combo. Pork was a little dry, but chicken was good. Macaroni salad was good with it. But would I get it again? Probably not. Musubi. Rice, spam, seaweed. Sounds simple but so good. $2.50 to boot. Other kinds were chicken katsu and bbq chicken. Chicken katsu is probably my favorite now. We wanted to eat there but there were so many people packed in there waiting in line, we decided to take our food home. Only couple of tables inside and outside. Overall good experience, will try other things on menu.

I am a long time customer of halos and am so disappointed to write this review. I am moving today so I was running around all day and placed a Togo order for lunch. When I came home and opened the bag that was TIED 3 huge flies came flying out of the bag. I was so turned off by the food immediately and upon closer inspection the container the food was in wasn’t even closed all the way meaning the flies were probably in my food! So gross ! I decided to just take a loss on $16 for the meal. I managed to capture a picture of one of the flies that was stuck in the bag before it flew out . We need to be better about bagging our food. I work in food service so I get being busy and things slipping through the cracks but bugs in food should not be one of them.

First time going here. Service took a few minutes but I clearly walked in on a lunch rush and every employee was working very hard and got to me as soon as possible. My poke was OK. Scoops are certainly smaller than some other poke spots I've been too but there's an OK amount of toppings to pick from. I have to say though the quality of the meats I tried were much better here than other places. Got spam masubi and unfortunately the spam was over cooked and pretty tough. I will definitely go try again, maybe when it's not as busy.
