China Garden Buffet — Restaurant in Chillicothe

Took my family here in the evening of the 15th of April. As we were getting our food from the buffet, my 7 yr old son came up to me with a plate of Jello and asked me what was inside of it. I looked and was in shock. I took it over to a heating lamp to get a better view and sure enough there was rat poop inside of the Jello. It could of been mice droppings but it sure would of been a bad day for the mice who made the deposit cause of the size. I showed it to everyone in my group, who confirmed what it was. Another member of our group took it and showed it to the waiter, who promptly took it in the back. Not a word from her or the manager during this ordeal. We just got our things and left. We are from bevier and we have been craving Chinese lately and we had to go to Trenton today so we figured we would stop and eat Chinese in Chillicothe. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. The sweet tea was literally like sugar water and soda had absolutely no carbonation. The rice was not cooked fully it was still hard as we ate it. The food wasn’t even warm and it was noon absolutely no reason for it to be cold. The beef and broccoli was literally like chewing on fat, the chicken tasted awful, the vegetables weren’t done and the customer service wasn’t the greatest. We complained to the employees and managers and all they could say was “sorry bout that” and we still ended up paying the full 20 dollars for something neither of us even ate a half of plate of and left hungry still. The food on my visit earns a 4. But the service only garnered a 2. Some of the food items, I would say were excellent. Especially the crab legs, though they could do with refilling the tray when it gets low. They were very sweet and not soaking in an excessively salty brine. A+ on those. A couple of the chicken dishes were quite good and I had extra helpings. Overall, not a bad choice for my Chinese buffet habit that spans the country from coast to coast. The service does need improvement though. One waitress covering the floor including doing the floor cleaning, is not enough to keep the patrons dishes taken and drinks refilled in a timely manner.
