Reading location We were looking forward to trying this dinner, and expected the wait. However everything was mediocre and not really worth the reviews. Be aware this place is small and busy. You will wait for a spot.
We sat at the counter, a fun line of sight..but the counter is too short/chairs too tall..gives you the experience of sitting at a tolder table. Bathrooms are also short.
The place was dirty... floors with food all over, bathrooms that needed attention, chairs needed to be wiped down, the employee side of the counters was a mess that needed a broom and a wipe down. They were cleaning the tables/counters between people, but everything else was not getting cleaned.
The waitress was functional -she was not exceptionally nice, attentive or helpful. We had to ask about the bucket of ducks that we saw everyone getting handed at the beginning of the meal (at the end of our meal,as it was never given to us), and we were handed a bucket of ducks, told to pick one and that was it. Apparently it's part of the atmosphere of this place.
The club sandwich is served dry, with condiments on the side...but you have to tear apart the sandwich to get the condiments on it. The sandwich overall was ok- nothing exciting. The fries were delicious, but for an extra $2.50 I expected more than half a potatos worth. The Ruben with corned beef was fine, again nothing exciting, we've definitely had better.
Overall it was fine, but not worth the hype from...
Read moreThis was the first time my friends and I ever came here. We weren't sure what we were going to expect, but it was a good time!
There was of course, a line and we waited about 30 minutes to get inside. The restaurant was packed and we came around 11am on the weekend. The restaurant is so fun, bright, and lively! There are rubber ducks everywhere and in all kinds of places. Each duck that is on the wall looked unique and funny. Staff was friendly, funny, and helpful, but weren't attentive and didn't check on us much, and when we needed help we had to get someone who was walking by.
I got the eggs benedict and a side of pancakes. I think overall I would prefer more seasoning in my breakfast and though they are famous for their thin pancakes, I didn't enjoy it as much. My hollandaise sauce was a bit too much on the sour side, but the hash browns were good. I think their food could be better, but it was decent for a breakfast place. I am really giving the review for the staff and the eclectic atmosphere, it was cool and interesting. With every meal, you get a free rubber duck to take with you and we had fun choosing one each.
It's a great place for a casual date, family outing, and decently priced breakfast food. Their menu has a lot of variety and choices. There's plenty of parking outside but it does fill up very quickly inside. Also when we went, it did not seem like their AC was on because it was so packed and hot that day. A good experience,...
Read moreHeading back home from West Chester OH and wanted breakfast. Google said this was the best place for breakfast in Cincinnati! Well they were right! The place had an old school upbeat feel. The food was good for a diner. I had the waffles with 4 wings which was actually just 4 wingettes, not 4 full wings but still filling. The eggs tasted different but a good different if you will. My wife had the breakfast special with 2 pancakes, eggs and meat of choice. Coffee was nice and strong. Service was what you would expect of a family owned establishment. Our only complaint is that when our server bought over the big red bin of ducks we had no idea what to do with them being that it was or first time there. We looked through them and admired them while we waited in our food and when our food came out we asked the food runner if we kept a duck? She told us that we can actually take as many as we want each time we come. So we each picked three. Well minutes later our server brings our check out and makes us put 4 ducks back saying that we can only take 1 each. It was a little embarrassing like we were trying to get more than what was allowed when she dropped them off to us with no explanation and someone else confirmed we could take plenty. They just need to get on the same page with that. Oh and the weather was 65 and their thermostat was set to 63. It was a little chilly in there! We will be back though if we’re ever in...
