Starlight Doughnut Lab — Restaurant in Norwood

Was our first time here this past weekend. We bought a half dozen donuts. A couple of the donuts were phenomenal, but a few we didn’t care for. Ratings for current selections are as follows:

Raspberry Pistachio: 10/10 Giant Cinnamon: 9.5/10 Strawberry Cheesecake: 7/10 -cake donut :( Boston Cream: 6/10 -cake donut :( Eggnog mascarpone: 5.5/10 -no filling :( Peanut butter: 3/10 (it’s just a regular chocolate icing donut with a peanut butter cookie on top, we were highly disappointed in this since we love peanut butter but there was no peanut butter filling which would make this donut ten times better)

The Raspberry pistachio and giant cinnamon donuts are absolutely delicious, but were the only things worth buying again in our opinion. Willing to try this place again upon next rotation of donuts as I’ve read the bourbon peach, crème brûlée, and peaches & cream are very good too. Hoping they bring those back

Price: $27 for a half dozen donuts, which is quite steep to be honest. Overall 7/10.

Incredible vegan doughnuts! As a person with a dairy allergy, I rarely find a place with a pastry for me, and never one with as many amazing, artisan options as I found at Starlight Doughnut Lab. We purchased a variety of seasonal and staple flavors to try for our first time—everything was delicious!!

The vegan boston cream was to die for (this was the #1 flavor for me, my husband, and my kids). Really loved the classic vanilla ring donuts too – this was the closest I've had to a traditional fluffy donut. The blueberry fritter was really interesting – not very sweet in the pastry, but balanced with the tart berry icing. I'm hoping they come out with an apple fritter in the Fall!

They serve Proud Hound coffee which we enjoy, and found to be a very balanced brew.

Staff was super friendly and gave us lots of helpful tips and info.

Starlight is easily my favorite donut shop in the city for many reasons. First, their rotating donut menu. Each month they have new flavors to try, but also keep some classics on the menu. Second, their flavors are so unique! Not only do they have sweet flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth, but they have the most amazing savory donuts as well. My favorite has to be the everything bagel donut. Starlight also has the most friendly service. Every time I go I’m greeted by the cashier, directed to flavor recommendations, and they are so patient! Important when you are deciding what donuts you want out of all the amazing flavors. Finally, it’s not just that they have interesting topping, they actual donut is ALSO delicious. It has the best texture, and flavor.
