Our family loves Country Waffles! It's our "Cheers" because we're eaters not drinkers. They have a good selection of food choices. The staff are amazing they have become friends over time. I'm a diabetic so hash browns/country potatoes aren't a good choice for me...so I get grilled vegetables no up charge. Frank, the owner is so cool. He willingly helps out local charitable projects. So many of us are regulars that we've become friends thru coming here. It's a place where everyone knows your name. Come join us you won't regret it.

Sept. 2023 We are still regulars. This place is so dependably good. It's folksy and charming, and they have the best iced tea in Sacramento County. "The Waffle" it's affectionate nick name, is blessed. Lonney, Alfie, and Margarita man the kitchen. They produce all the classic American breakfast and lunch dishes. The experience starts in the parking lot, where the aroma draws you right inside. There you're greeted by the staff in the front of the house. They'll learn your 1st name and use it when you come back next time. Even on busy days, the wait isn't too long. Inside, the guests are just like you, family. Young families, local business people, grandparents. It's a lunch place for ladies that lunch, a bicycle club meets there, and a Bible study group. There's lots of birthdays celebrated. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff THE BEST. Mr. Rogers would approve and call them his neighbors. A good, wholsome, and...

Love this place, always have, always will- as long as the current owners continue to own it... I loved Awful Annie's, and then after decades of cooking the best tbone steak and eggs in the known universe, BAM ! They decide to retire and take it easy (@ beginning of covid no less - smart if you ask me, seeing as how the ownership is elderly and all), sell the restaurant to people who changed the menu, but kept it a breakfast & lunch spot, changed the name, but kept some of the AA Staff in the kitchen & wait personnel... don't get me wrong, HOTG OV makes tasty and wholesome breakfast dishes, as well as lunch foods and so on.. but nothing that they are pumping out can even hold a candle to the simplest & smallest of a la carté side dishes one gets when eating at Country Waffles- Citrus Heights.. Everything they make is fantastic. I love the sausage gravy they make- you can have them smother anything they have on the menu with that stuff for like 2.99 extra... I love their every dish, have had probably every last item on the menu at least once... and with awful Annie's no longer around, Country Waffles and one other breakfast place (which I won't divulge of the name for C W's sake) are the only breakfast places I have now, whom I trust and have complete faith in to get a proper meal from... Classic Benny breakfast, AND country-fried steak and eggs (over-medium, obviously...) Country Waffles is straight up delicious, you will not regret stopping in and...

I most likely won't go back. I did order the wrong type of waffle. I had asked if the waffle was topped and thought about asking them to put the topping on the side but, I went against my better judgment and let them prepare the waffle in it's original way the same as it was on the menu. I had no idea that I would be scooping and scraping tons of excess whip cream along with way too much apple pie filling off of the waffle. It was enough to almost fill the entire fruit cup dish they gave me. Gloppy fruit textures gross me out. I also didn't care for my seating arrangement and that no one checked in after my order was delivered to see if everything was okay. I had to wave down a waitress to get ketchup and didn't bother telling them my hashbrowns weren't crispy enough & the fruit cup fruit didn't seem very fresh. Apple Pie Topping & Excess thick whip cream made my waffle very soggy and ruined my 1st experience there. However, a lady in line when I was waiting to pay my bill offered me a mini Bible & that was the highlight of my morning. She brightened my day. God is So Good!!! I may still have the photo. If I do I'll add it here.. I forgot to add that the restaurant is very dated and draws an older crowd of people...

The young man with the dirty goofy hat on who seated us was rude and told us to go sit down at a wet table top while he put our cutlery/napkin combos together. The food came out quick but was luke warm. The country potatoes could have been so good, but they weren't hot and had absolutely 0 seasoning on them. The prices are kind of ridiculous for the quality. I tried the chicken and waffles Benedict. Mushy sweet waffles with not crispy half a chicken strip under over poached eggs with flavorless hollandaise. The coffee was good. My son enjoyed his bannana foster waffle. He liked the soft, sweet waffle. So there is that. For the price ($40 bucks for two plates and a kids half waffle), there are FAR better places to have breakfast in Citrus Heights.

Country Waffles stands alone, in a strip mall on busy Sunrise. It's a large, country-themed restaurant, clean but dated. The servers are pleasant and bring delicious food hot, from a big menu of traditional items for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu includes excellent country potatoes and delicious country gravy. Many regulars inhabit CW and that's always a good sign. This is one of three restaurants with the same local ownership. Flapjacks on El Camino & Taylor's in Loomis are also very good.

Great place for waffles. You can tell the food is worth eating when there is a line of elders ready to be seated. On a Sunday morning we were seated in about 5 minutes. The coffee was great and the variety of waffles was fun. We tried the bacon-peacon waffle and the peanut butter and banana waffle. The peanut butter was generously spread. Also, the staff was very polite.
