PrimoHoagies — Restaurant in City of Albany

Okay, so here's the real deal.

I moved here in 2021, and I have not been able to find my go-to sandwich spot. I've tried chains, I've tried local shops, small shops, big shops, pizza places, restaurants, and nothing gives me that true, simple, but delicious downright good hoagie vibe.

Either the ingredients ratio isn't spot on, meat was too thick, the bread is too soft or just not It, there's too much mayo, or it just isn't..... it.

After years; it finally hit!!!!

Some coworkers recently ordered from here, I got home and told my husband, "we need to try Primo Hoagies. Their sandwiches look like it might be IT."

So that night, we ordered! (On doordash)

And wowie, did it HIT.

The bread is excellent. Not too soft, not too tough, not too thick, not too thin. It gives the perfect chewyness and softness at the same time and just has a great flavor.

I got the turkey, no cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle, and it was perfection. I'm a big "I love a leftover day old cold sub," and it was even perfect the day after left over, too!

The meat ratio was perfect, with great turkey, sliced super thin and delicious. It had the perfect amount of mayo, and overall, just a good, solid, simple but delicious hoagie with simple ingredients.

10/10 I've finally found my go-to sub shop! Thank you, Primo hoagies! I will absolutely be a regular...

Guys they're hoagies this is a PHILLY deli not a NYC deli and the only place in Albany you're getting a philly cheesesteak on the right seeded roll with the correct cooper sharp cheese they're cheese on the sharp hot Italian mix was cut wayyyyyy to thick though made it disgusting and I do like really sharp provolone but not a block of it and everything else on it was perfect but not having an option for hot pepper spread on door dash sucks (idk if they have it in store) banana...

If you want to have your condiments sprayed on the side of your sub roll, or either forced to re arange the whole sub just to not have it fall apart, this is the place for you. Staff come off as untrained/college kids, but at least show they care and try their best.

*Update --- 3 Months later and still no one there can make a sandwich...
