Been roaming around near my workplace for my Friday dinners, but I've plum run out so I moved into more local eateries near my home. I use to know this spot as Crystal's Restaurant, but that was years ago and it has since been reworked into the Lyon Street Bar and Grill. Put my order in though their website, originally ordering the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and Breaded Cheese Cauliflower, but I was called shortly after my order went though and told they no longer have the pulled chicken but they do have a grilled chicken. A shame for sure, but at least they were quick on the draw for notifying me, just need to get on their website and remove that option. When I arrived, which mind you I put that order in online hours before I arrived, I was told it would be a couple more minutes. "Ok" I said, and proceeded to wait 10 more minutes until it was done. Seriously? I understand being short staffed, which one of the employees was complaining about, but to not have an order put in 4 hours before they customer arrives ready for them is baffling. Need to work on that prep time. Digging into everything at home I loved the Cauliflower bites, just the right amount of cheesiness and made ever better with the marinara sauce. The grilled chicken sandwich was... wet, the bun it was on was way too small and the bottom bun was soaked in the rather watery sauce. The sides I picked, old fashioned Western mashed and grilled veggies, were disappointing. The mashed potatoes were cold, flavorless, and way too chunky. The grilled veggies were more like sautéed veggies, and pretty oily. Not great. At the end of the day I was torn between a 3 or a 4, because if I could give this place a 3.5 I would. But Google doesn't deal in half stars, so I really thought about it and decided to round up in lieu of the fact the Lyon Street Bar and Grill has very little reviews as it stands. But that is the only reason.

Came here on a Friday night on a recommendation.Felt more like a venue than an actual restaurant, line dancing was being held in the banquet room which shouldn't have impacted us at all but that was clearly the priority and not the patrons in the restaurant. Some of the worst service I've had of my life, waited 35 minutes for our drinks,we were right on the verge of leaving. There were only a handful of other people in the dining room so we figured it would be better for food, boy were we wrong.Took almost another two hours to order, get our food and then check. We had other plans for the night but they were ruined because we stuck here all night.Food was ok,I got pulled pork nachos which were meh, store bought tortilla chips with pork that seemed to be cooked in a crockpot. Overall food was meh, service was absolutely atrocious.I understand that this is recently reopened and they are trying very hard but this is absolutely not how you make a good impression.

Rubbish & Rude I ordered a Manhattan, bartender while she had confidence just no skills. Terrible cocktail made with spoiled vermouth. Yes people, vermouth needs to be refrigerated. Theirs was not, old and spoiled. Bruschetta was laughable… no salt on the tomatoes, and zero basil. Made with a balsamic glacé product so it lacked acidity. Potato corn chowder, lacked any seasoning, or flavor seemed to be served cold at first, then a nuclear hot spot, it had been microwaved. Veal francaise was rubbish. Tough veal, bland, no veloute or pan sauce. Served dry. Pasta was mush with overpowering raw lemon juice the only distinguishable flavor. On my way out, after eating 2 bites of everything I saw Dan. I explained what a terrible experience it was and his response was…. “I find that hard to believe, my food is great. People love it”

I will be brutally honest. I know that most of the reviews on here are from locals, just as I am, and he's a likeable guy so you're going to get mostly good reviews no matter how good or bad there food experience was. My experience has been lukewarm. Out of the five different dishes I have ordered for takeout, there is only one of them that is really stand out. Almost everything, however, is overpriced. I only decided to post this review because tonight I was very much disappointed. I was originally going to order the corned beef and cabbage dinner, but the previous night I had spoken with someone who suggested I NOT do that because they had ordered it and they were disappointed with it. So instead, I ordered the bangers and mashed for the St Patrick's Day Holiday- $19.44 with tax. I ordered it because I had seen a photo of it that a fairly well known local citizen had posted, and it looked to be very good with a very generous portion. Wow, was I disappointed when I picked mine up. Almost all potato, ( and by the way, isn't it supposed to be mashed potatoes?...) most of them undercooked, with two smallish sausage links. Really?? For 20 bucks? My order certainly looked nowhere near what the aforementioned citizen's looked like. Let me put it like this- I had to go to Burger King about an hour later and grab two hamburgers just to fill my hunger largely due to the fact that I basically had undercooked potatoes for dinner. Ridiculous and very disappointing. Again, I am not intentionally trying to bash a business that is a startup in the city, and like I said, the owner apparently is well liked. But at the same time, I am not going to sugarcoat things if there are good reasons not to. The taste of the food is not bad, however it really is overpriced and the portions are absolutely nothing to write home about...... but maybe that opinion depends on who you are. I guess I'm going to give up on them because I have just not been all that impressed. I gave them more than three chance. I gave them five, with 1 out of 5 being actually worth it. Yes, I suppose I could have called and complained about this, but they were extremely busy due to the St Patrick's Day holiday/festivities going on in the city so I didn't bother. I would have...

Now I’m reminded why I’ve never cared to try this place since it’s been open. I have never met a more pompous, rude owner than Dan. My family from out of town was visiting and wanted to have a get together, and for some unknown reason chose here. My mom’s cousin offered to buy some pizzas for the group, but some of us wanted to order some other things on our own tab. I believe there were about 5 other smaller food tabs (didn’t seem like a huge deal). To us, more business for them! My husband had our own tab and ordered a 12 cut pizza and fries for us and our two kids. When they came out, we saw from a far that a different waitress set it down on the pizza pedestal for the group and didn’t tell anyone it was a sep. order from the group’s pizza. Simple mistake. Before we could say anything, others began taking some not knowing it was our pizza. I brought it up to our main waitress and she replied “ugh. I told her to ask you all whose it was to give it to you.” She then approached me a few minutes later asking me “what are we going to do about this?” Aka about paying for the pizza. I reminded her it was the waitress’s mistake she didn’t bring it to my mine and my husband’s table, and instead set it down for the group. She told me that the people in the kitchen were complaining about all the separate tickets. Hearing that, I had a bad taste in my mouth. What was the big deal? It was a 12 cut pizza, not a $$ filet mignon dinner and the restaurant was basically empty except for our group. My husband spoke to Dan (the owner) who again tried justifying the mistake and complained about the miscommunication between my moms cousin and him….not our problem. He told my husband he’d make us a new pizza. We waited for him to make it and he brought it out to us. Instead of a simple “here you go!” Or “sorry again about that!” Dan AGAIN had to make an unnecessary comment saying “it was because of the other tickets and everyone ordering…” I looked at him and said “it was your waitresses fault.” Dan took one look at my husband, smacked his shoulder and laughed “Goodluck with that!!” and walked away. Who says that to a customer? (“joke” or not) Myself and my entire family were disappointed in the way we were treated and how the situation...

We had a party of 10 for my daughters birthday and was so excited to try it and was so disappointed from the time we sat down.. before I sat I I used the bathroom and it smelled clean but garbage was full and there was no toilet paper in the stalls and had to go out to get someone 😩 we ordered many things appetizers, pasta, fish, salad, soup and it was everything and every single one of us had a complaint which normally doesn’t happen … the nachos were soggy, the soup was I can’t even describe other than tasteless the fish was definitely spoiled and the not lasagna rigatoni’s were probably spoiled too … they tasted horrible and had no choice but to tell the waitress who felt horrible so we asked for a steak and cheese sandwich in replace of that and said we would still pay for it since maybe it was just not to our liking … the steak sandwich came out with a soupy cheese on it and my dog wouldn’t even touch it when we took it home 😩… the fries and breaded cauliflower were ok but the salads were literally only spinach and no lettuce at all…. Our bill was over 300 and she did knock off 25 percent which we didn’t ask for but appreciated and still gave the waitress a generous tip because she could tell we weren’t eating anything that was brought out but trying to be polite… I’m very sorry to say that we will never go there again due to the fact that it was just too many things that were not good not just one or two…another thing g is they really should take a lot off the menu because there’s no way they are making it fresh which is why we had done spoiled things…. So the reason for this review which I have never done before is because 3 out of the 10 people are sick today with diarrhea and vomiting , the other people only had a few bites of appetizers…. I hope after they read this they make some changes since I do know there was a lot of time and money out into it and a staple of Amsterdam… good luck! The waitress was...
