The Marker — Restaurant in City of Glen Cove

I recently had the chance to dine at the new restaurant located on the golf course, and as a fan of both The Brass Rail and Heirloom, I was looking forward to a delightful experience. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.

To start off, I ordered the baked clams, but they arrived dry and lacked the flavor I was anticipating. It was a disappointing beginning to the meal. Next, I tried their interpretation of Chicken Scarpariello, which was surprisingly more akin to chicken fricassee topped with sausage. While I appreciate culinary creativity, the dish missed the mark, lacking the characteristics that one hopes for in a classic Chicken Scarpariello.

As for the service, it was subpar. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, which detracted from the overall dining experience. With restaurants in this price range, I always expect a certain level of service, and sadly, this one did not deliver.

On a positive note, I must commend the ambiance. The setting on the golf course is indeed lovely and would make for a great spot to relax and take in the scenery. However, the visual appeal alone isn’t enough to warrant a return visit, as I was looking for a memorable dining experience, not just a pleasant atmosphere.

Overall, while the restaurant has potential, my experience was lackluster. I hope they can refine their menu and service to match the beautiful surroundings. For now, I’ll stick to The Brass Rail and Heirloom for my culinary adventures. I can’t help but feel that there is much room for...

The Marker is a hidden gem in Glen Cove! Located next to a golf course with stunning ocean views, the ambiance is elegant yet relaxing, ideal for a special dinner. I enjoyed a vibrant salad with fresh greens, roasted beets, pumpkin seeds, and cherry tomatoes—visually appealing and delicious. Arrived for 8 pm reservation, was seated and not acknowledged for first 15. A server then came to set the table and offer water. Another 15 minutes later another server came up and asked if anyone had helped us yet. We then ordered drinks, apps and entrees as it had already taken 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Took about another 20 minutes for the drinks to come which was followed by our entrees arriving before our appetizer. We were just about ready to leave at this point. Would say ambiance and drinks were very good, food very very salty. Would not go back for food but if in no rush, would go to bar...
