My recent experience at The Dinner Detective at the Glen Cove Mansion was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the event was an anbsolute treat from entertainment and dining. The actors were brilliant—incredibly funny and quick on their feet. Their improvisation and witty banter kept everyone on their toes, and it was impossible to predict who the culprit was. This made the mystery genuinely engaging and exciting, as you truly felt like you were part of the action. Beyond the thrilling performance, the food was a highlight in itself. It was amazing, delicious, and incredibly filling, making for a perfect, well-coordinated meal. Every course was presented beautifully and tasted even better. This was more than just a dinner; it was a truly immersive and great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience

I enjoyed this show with my family. It was our first such event of this type. The mansion is a beautiful structure located in Glen Cove, NY. Upon arrival we were directed by a lot attendant to a parking lot and given brief instructions on how to enter the mansion by following the sign. The lot was mostly full and it was difficult to find parking. There was no handicap parking in the lot but I saw one space near the entrance which was occupied. A venue of this size should offer more than one space. After finally finding a parking spot, the walk to the door was long and all up a slight hill. Taxing to say the least as I saw a few elderly and walking challenged people struggling. The entrance was on the opposite side of the building about as far from the lot as possible. Once inside, there was a check-in table to confirm reservations. Giving you name and we were handed an envelope with a table number and instructed not to open until instructed to. We were pointed to a stair case which again, was a very steep and narrow climb. Several steps up we were lost as there was no signs as to which floor or indications where to go. After back tracking and finding others lost on the steps, we all managed to find the right floor and there was a room at the end of the hall with numbered tables corresponding to the number we were assigned on the envelope. The room itself, was not very large and one could argue cramped for the amount of people in this area. We all sat at a large, round table with other families who made up the difference to fill each table of about 12 seats per table. On the table was an appetizer already set at each place. Unknown as to how long it was there. Sliced of watermelon with a goat cheese drizzled with balsamic style dressing. It was interesting and a new taste for me as I curiously gave it a try. If you wanted a drink, other than water there was an open bar cart at the far end of the room. They initially had only one bartender making the line wrap almost the length of the room. Slow service at the bar, long lines and a bit pricey even for just a soft drink. As for the show it's self. It was a bit confusing to get started as there were no real instructions and you are left to walk around and meet, talk and interrogate others in the room. You are encouraged to ask questions about occupations, and whodunnit style questions. Once the actual actors came in the room I feel things started to make sense and come together. At this point it became fun to watch. I would recommend this as a good night out with entertainment. The food was great, appeasing and well plated. I would only ask that more consideration be given to those that are handicapped or have limited mobility...

This is definitely an interactive experience, so if you were under the impression like we were that you'd just be watching a show and calling out answers, that isn't the case. It was a bit too interactive for the taste of the group we came with but overall was very entertaining. The actors did an amazing job, specifically the detectives. The drinks at the bar were very weak, we asked for vodka tonics and after the bartender asked if we meant vodka soda and we clarified, we still got the club soda but perhaps no vodka at all. Not worth what they were charging at all. Best way to get drink at the bar is beer or wine due to that. The food was pretty good, I was curious because I read some bad reviews about the courses that came out. We had no issues and were pleasantly surprised of how good everything was. Whole it was a nice night out, this was a one an...
