The only positive thing about this resturant is the view paired with the sunset makes the experience very beautiful and very romantic. I love the pond right in the middle. Now onto the negatives.. The food is mediocre at best.. everything was either too over cooked, too under seasoned or too over seasoned. I ordered BBQ wings, Caesar salad Spring rolls, and Mac N Cheese kids size (that never came) for starters. BBQ wings were EXTREMELY salty, so salty to the point where the barbecue sauce was no longer the star of the dish. If you served me this for lunch at school I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Caesar salad was very good but also too SALTY. I hate to be the one who says it but, too much Parmesan cheese! I know what you’re thinking, too much cheese? I never heard of that until today! But yes, the Parmesan cheese was overpowering the entire salad to the point each bite felt like I was consuming a spoonful of salt each bite.. Spring rolls were not living up to the hype like our waiter suggested. Chopped Carrots and some celery and arugula or whatever other simple veggies they threw inside of a rice wrapper and slapped a hefty price tag on it just because they can. Took one bite and left the rest on the side, what a waste. They should consider taking it off the menu or reconstruct it, seriously. MAC N CHEESE for kids, I don’t know because I never got it even though I specifically asked twice. My nephew didn’t mind because I told him I’ll get him food later when we leave. Shaking my head. Now for the entrees, a COMPLETE disappointment. I ordered the ribeye and filet mignon as well as wok stir fry noodles with beef. Ribeye, I asked for medium rare. They gave me it well done. I told my waiter, she told her manager and he told me their head chef will personally make me another one. Again, it was NOT medium rare, instead a medium. Also the ribeye is extremely thin and over seasoned, I don’t recommend you buy this because for almost $50 you can definitely get something better somewhere else.. however I will say the potatoes that came with the ribeye was very good. But no one is paying $50 for three wedges of a potato. Do not recommend. Filet mignon, I asked for medium rare. They gave me it well done. I told my waiter, she told her manager and he told me their head chef will personally make me another one. Again, it was NOT medium rare, instead I got a under seasoned, rare, cold blue in the middle steak.. The sides that came with the steak did not stand out. Also a waste of money, do not recommend. Stir fry noodles with beef, mediocre.. beef chunks look like a dog chewed it up and regurgitated on top of the plate. Beef Lo Mien at a hole in the wall Chinese spot would’ve been better. Do not recommend. I also had a spicy margarita which was disgusting. OVERPOWERINGLY spicy and salty/sour. Come on.. a guy can’t at least have a good drink to forget about the bad food and service?! For dessert I had a creme brûlée, it was ok.. you can’t mess a creme brûlée up, Except for when you put a coating of sugar on top that is thicker than the wall trump wants to build! I tried to crack the shell by slamming my spoon on top, i kid you not, the spoon bounced back and the creme brûlée did not have even a scratch. Coating of sugar used was about as thick as two nickels stacked on top of each other. However The creme was very tasty, not too sweet nor bland. Waiters forgot a order, were not attentive to the table needs such as changing plates and utensils when entrees came or refilling water or brining extra napkins, and had me pack up my own food.. The manager Andy, offered to take the ribeye off the bill as well as gift the table an order of dessert on the house, which I really appreciated because it shows they were trying to fix what they messed up on but it was already too many wrongs to make a right. Based on my first experience here, I will never be coming back again. The view is extremely beautiful and great for a first date date but the food RUINS...
Read moreI had a terrible experience here recently with the manager Brandon. I had a reservation for 15 guest on the patio. One of my guest did not receive his dish in a timely manner. After asking the waiter three times he eventually asked for the manager. To our surprise the manager was not interested in resolving the issue or providing any empathy or even basic customer service. Instead, he became confrontational and made excuses rather then trying to make it right. He didn’t apologize and accused the guest of not ordering the dish in the first place. I was shocked at how aggressive and extremely defensive he became. He made no attempt to de-escalate the problem instead he was making it worse. I could see the tension escalating and I was horrified and shocked. I finally stood up and ask Brandon if I could speak to him on the side. I gave Brandon an out by removing him from the table. I noticed he was breathing heavy and his glasses were all fogged up. I tried to calm him and share some managerial advice. I reminded Brandon that he should not take things so personal and to remember he is here to provide customer service and help his team resolve issues. I asked him if he could just help my guest get his dish so we can move forward and enjoy the rest of the night. We mentioned we had reservations to return on 2/13 for 15 but we would cancel based on this experience. Brandon (ego) informed me that he didn’t care because he had plenty of other guest that pay alit of money to be there and he would make more money off smaller parties then a large group.
I love the outdoor dining option and the beautiful patio. The food is OK pretty basic but it was the ambiance and beautiful views that kept us coming back. Thr front house staff is fantastic. We love Claudia, Tanya and Rojolio. Unfortunately, we will not be back until Brandon is gone. We make it our priority to avoid hostile and thug environments. A leader should not let your ego get the best of you. You should lead by example keep your composure and behave responsibly and respectfully at all times. Teach your team to be solution oriented and always try to provide quality service. To the rest of the team - keep up the good work the property is spotless and the team works hard to provide excellent service and a safe environment. Hang in there, I am sure you are aware bad managers come and go. See...
Read moreI recently (yesterday) had an unpleasant experience at The Red restaurant located at The Pacific Palms Resort where we were also guest at and I feel the need to share my thoughts. When we arrived the hostess (seemed annoyed to attend us) informed us that we could sit outside but mentioned there were numerous reservations expected soon, and if those guests arrived, we would need to move. We understood this as we didn’t have a reservation for the restaurant , so no issues there. However, after we were seated, we noticed that the restaurant wasn’t very busy, and we were there for a little over three hours, which didn’t seem unreasonable.
We ordered drinks and food multiple times, since our room was just upstairs we wanted to end our night there but as the night wore on and the restaurant was getting closer to closing (at about 8:55pm ,they close at 9:00pm), our server who seemed liked he didn’t even want to be a work to begin with began rushing us to finish up. Not even 15 min later The “Manager” even came at 9:08pm and made it clear that he needed to clean the tables for the next guests, which is understandable. But he (the manager) made a comment saying we have already been there for 4 hours which is a very unnecessary and unprofessional comment to say. I didn’t see a sign stating there was a time limit for guest. We were staying at the resort as guest so I don’t see what the problem was. We were not just there drinking water and taking up space. We were not the only guest at the restaurant. There were a few people by the bar and some other guest sitting to the left and right of us. I’m not sure why he was so concentrated on us leaving . But did not rush the other guest. However, there’s definitely a more polite and professional way to handle this, and his approach was rude and off-putting. The WHOLE staff could benefit from retraining on how to treat customers with respect and courtesy.
Overall, I was really disappointed with the service, and I will not be returning to The Red in the future. It’s a shame because the location and food had potential, but the lack of professionalism and courtesy ruined the experience. If you enjoy terrible service, being rushed through your meal, and dealing with rude servers, then this is the perfect...
