Halleez: The Ultimate Sweet Spot — Restaurant in City of Lackawanna

Halleez is top notch! I've been to this hidden gem multiple times since they've opened & I've never had a poor experience. The majority of my friends are foodies (like myself) & when we're craving some late night sweets, Halleez is most def the spot! I even bring my out-of-town guests when they come to visit... The staff are all very kind & genuinely excited to serve you. Not sure what ice cream flavor to go with? Just ask & they'll be happy to give you a sample.

Suggestions: The Qashta (rose water & pistachio) ice cream flavor profile is a must; even if just to sample. Also, try the Smurf Waffle (Belgian Liege - your tradish, more dense style OR the Bubble Waffle - more light & airy)... topped with their original, Blue Moon ice cream (a fruity pebbles flavor profile, but not as sweet), white chocolate sauce, fruity pebbles & white chocolate chips - I always add marshmallows that they toast until ooey gooey before they serve you.

I ended up coming in for a late night snack 5 minutes before closing bc I didn't realize that their hours had recently changed (open til 11p now, not 1a) & I declined to order bc I didn't want to be "that person" & without making me feel like they were annoyed that I was preventing them from closing, they made me my dessert without hesitation!

I know this is a long one, but I just have to end this review & say that supporting local, minority owned business is ESSENTIAL, especially to Buffalo, NY... So, don't go to "White Rabbit", you can get basically the same type of dessert; however, at Halleez, it's way better, literally half the price & you're supporting the community. Get in your belly 😜

What a cool new place! I really loved coming and learning about Halleez and their unique take on dessert. I learned that Halleez means to have dessert in Arabic, which was something cool to take away from the experience.

I ended up stopping by before dinner on Valentine’s Day, with my forever Valentine. We decided that since life is short we should eat desert first. The hardest part was choosing if we wanted a bubble waffle, liege waffle or crepe. We chose bubble waffle because Jim never had one and the prearranged Nutella toppings because it was perfect! You have the option of some prearranged toppings or making your own combination. You can’t really go wrong.

First of all the dessert was huge! A generous portion to indulge or share. Also very important to add, the toppings were plentiful so you weren’t stuck at the end with all waffle and no good stuff. The waffle was warm and crispy, tons of warm Nutella and white chocolate sauces, strawberries and a very generous portion of vanilla ice cream on the side. The dessert was to die for and we can’t wait to come back and try other things next time.

This is definitely a place to check out! The space is gorgeous and the people are pleasant. I got their Twix Crepe. I wanted it sushi style so it would be easier to eat, but seeing how beautiful it was flat style, I was more than happy! I mean c'mon, isn't that awesome!? My Mum was with me and got the Purple Rain Linz Waffle. She ate the entire thing (big feat for her) and said that it qualified as her 'birthday cake' since her birthday was the next day. I also got an iced pistachio latte... Amazing! Everything was hands down delicious! My only request is if you guys would think of your patrons, especially the elderly and immunocompromised, and wear masks. When I went, all three employees present did not have masks on. Please don't freak out on me people! This place is so amazing! I am so happy it's right by my house, however this does present a great challenge to my weight loss plan.
