Davison Road Inn - The DRI — Restaurant in City of Lockport

We have been frequent customers all summer, the tent is spacious and comfortable and the service is friendly. DRI does not advertise itself as fine dining and it does the basics very well. As in life, errors happen, often in restaurant kitchens - but how they affect the experience of the client should be carefully considered. We ordered 2 burgers and a prime rib. We were thoroughly enjoying ourselves but after some time realized that our food was taking an unusually long time to arrive. Finally able to find our server, we were told that one of the burgers had been dropped and another was being prepared. Again, it happens. We asked that the other entrees be served and they were brought to the table several minutes later. Obviously, my prime rib (ordered rare) had been sitting under he heat lamp for enough time that the side facing up on my plate was medium, the other side was shoe leather. Obviously this was noticed in the kitchen and the meat flipped before delivery. In sum, the overall delay was unacceptable (it doesn't take 30+ minutes to make a new cheeseburger) and the priciest item on your menu was intentionally served without care of the client's basic request. The servers were young ladies who were very sweet, we did not want to complain to them (although it was pointed out) for the kitchen's mistakes and they were tipped generously. But your establishment should understand that many of the regular clients you gained during the warmer months because of your outdoor accommodations will soon be moving indoors, will they return to the DRI? PS. A comped meal or round of drinks - any effort to recognize our inconvenience - would have been...

Let's just say, I will NEVER go back there again !!!! I would Not recommend that place to nobody. I wanted to treat my husband to a Father's Day buffet. I said ,let's make reservations for 1:00pm at DRI. We had never been there before. First off ,we get there and had to stand at the receptions desk for at least 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were there. Then someone finally came and we told them we had reservations for 1:00pm. He said ,just a minute ,I have to clean off a table. Ok, so finally we sat down and the one girl said you can go help yourself. Well, we get up to the buffet table and every tray of food was totally empty except for the potato pan. Anyway, long story short, it was our first time and last time we will patronize that place.End...

Last visited just three days ago. The server seemed terribly inexperienced. When asked what was on tap, she said she didn't know. She never offered to find out, so we didn't get to order from the tap. Also, she had strange tableside manner; hovering after we placed an order and when we were figuring out the tip. Food ordered was served under cooked, then again after we mentioned it to the server. The third time we asked it was taken off the bill.
