I was very disappointed to find out that John was let go from ace hardware Lockport, it would be an understatement to say that he was a cornerstone of that establishment, and he was one of the friendliest and most helpful and most knowledgeable and most outgoing employees that existed within that establishment. Anytime I needed advice on a project. I always went to him because he had a general knowledge of pretty much everything and again he was incredibly friendly and approachable, which cannot be said for all of the employees at this establishment. He had worked there as long as I’ve been going to the store and now the he doesn’t work there anymore, I don’t really know who I am going to ask for advice on projects, Especially considering some of the other male employees are incredibly unapproachable, grumpy, salty, or just rude in general. Luckily though….most of the females are very nice and knowledgeable So that’s a plus, But he will be sorely missed. I encourage management to consider weighing out what employees bring to the table and what they will be losing, before they consider letting some of their top tier employees go in the future….. but what do I know? I love this little hardware store. It's not nearly as large as the big box stores but I find they have every odd ball thing I need. For example, today I needed a set screw for a door handle. In the parking lot I realized the handle wasn't tapped. I knew I have a 10-32 tap at home. So that's what I wanted. In my experience, set screws are usually metric/fine thread. Sure enough, they had a 10-32. Saved a couple $ because I didn't have to buy a new tap. Prices can be higher on some items but most are competitive. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Also enough employees so that you're in and out. Paint center with color mixing. Glass and screen repair. Items for outdoors as well...

Customer Message: So I just came from my local Ace hardware, in Lockport NY. I was looking for a grass and weed self pump sprayer and the concentrate so I can mix it. The price on shelf for the Ace brand was 12.99 and the concentrated solution was marked 19.99. I get to the register and my total was 49 and change. So I ask the cashier to look at price on shelf and he agreed the whole roll was mis marked. I asked the cashier aren't you suppose to give the customer the product for the price on the shelf. He had no clue and I left the store and will never go back to your stores due to shelf prices don't match your register prices. Totally not fair to customers.
