Carlos' Pizzeria and Bar — Restaurant in City of Middletown

We order 1 pie to be delivered. We asked for 1 pie to be pepperoni and the other side of the pie just plain cheese. When we received our pie it was all plain cheese with pepperoni in a container and cheese in another container for us to put it on ourselves 😂😂😂 the delivery guy was nice and he said he will take it back and we said no that's fine my company and me jokingly laughed about it and thought it was cute and funny 😉 😂😂😂 life is to short and people do make mistakes.

But because I am a review expert I had to share my experience and my pizza. Carlos even thou my pizza was wrong I have to admit YOUR PIZZA WAS EXACTLY HOW I LIKED IT. My pizza arrived like it just came out of the oven and this was A HUGE SURPRISE AND PUT A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE. I would have given all 5 stars but that means I wouldn't be truthful about my experience and I have to be honest. Your counter person must listen closely and repeat the order to the customer just to make sure you are on the same page. But I will order again from here and I will recommend others as well.

Update: I decided to dine in with Carlos I wanted Italian food and I thought why not dine in? Well, I have to say it wasn't what I expected. I ordered a chicken francese when u received it the juices were dripping off the plate the young lady handed it to me like this. My meal was salty and it tasted like campbells chicken noodle soup. The chicken was good I ate that with the bread I had ask for. My drink was a mocktail and it was ok nothing to brag on. The bartender was entertaining some gentlemen at the bar and the discussion was solely on her having a stalker who followed her from her (Carlos) several times and she threatened to have him beat up. I had to track down a waitress for my bill and another young lady brought it not my waitress mind you it wasn't busy. I have to now wait for a waitress to come back so I could pay my bill and nobody showed up so I ask the bartender can I pay it and she said yes. Then all of a sudden my waitress showed up I told her the bartender has my bill the bartender went to have me back the bill so I can sign it but my waitress said no I got it she took the bill and then disappeared another 10 min which now I have to wait for her so I could leave. Eventually, she showed up I signed my bill and left and yes I tipped her but I will not return to this location I will go ahead and take a trip to New Windsor. I will not recommend this place. Owner, you have a wonderful spot you need new staff...

I would have given this very clean restaurant a 5-star rating, except I ordered a diet coke with lemon, and it tasted weird. The wait staff immediately tried to fix the problem with a clean glass filled with a new beverage and lemon. Once again, the taste was still there! I determined that I thought it was a bad lemon and asked for another glass without a slice of lemon. Much to my surprise...3 strikes, and you're out!!! The third glass without lemon continued to taste like dirt or mold!! Things happen... perhaps it was a cheap soda and not Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, or maybe it was dirty seltzer lines or connections, but it was definitely not exceptable, and their was something wrong. To top it off, I was charged for the soda that was served to me 3x and was still unexceptable! Another complaint this evening was the noise level... which we have never experienced before but then realized that we had never sat on that wall before, and it seems as though the noise bounces and collects in that back corner. We had difficulties talking to one another at our own table. Keep in mind there were only 3 tables, including ours occupied.

On a better note, the food was absolutely wonderful! No complaints! We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed with the food!! Always 5 star!! Service was also very attentive and sweet....

I've been here a couple of times and had increasingly flavorful food. My first experience was the Balsamic Panini. It was tasty, but included a disappointing amount of veggies and meat. The bread is by far the best asset, singlehandedly making a mediocre panini something that was worthwhile. On another occasion, I tried the Chicken & Sausage Rigatoni with Broccoli Rabe. They were out of broccoli rabe, but easily substituted for spinach. The cappelini beans were a welcome addition and the olive oil garlic sauce was deliciously simple. This dish was one of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time!

The prices are a bit higher than going rate, averaging $1-$2 more than other pizzerias in the area. If you do venture out, I suggest the more reasonably priced lunch offerings that are still a good portion. The relaxed atmosphere coincides nicely with the modern decor. Finally, the service is somewhat mediocre due to an overall lack of attentiveness.
