Sugar Bowl — Restaurant in City of Mount Vernon

It's hard to leave such a review for a local business that I would love to see strive. However, the food and service (specifically from the owner) was terrible. The positives: The waitress was very pleasant; she took time to make recommendations and go through the menu. Along with the waitress, the customers clearly make the restaurant an inviting place to be, for what you hope would be a quick, delicious bite to eat in the neighborhood. Now to the negatives: The owner's attitude is quite off-putting to put it mildly. I'm not of the mindset that the customer is always right, however, as a business owner, you still need to be approachable and respond to your patrons in a reasonable manner! With respect to my order, not only was it incorrect, which I accepted and didn't bother to send back for correction, the food was quite bland...no favor at all!

It's important for the community to rally behind local businesses..but this one should have stayed closed if this was the result of the reopening! Do yourself a favor and head over to Columbus Diner or New Rochelle Diner...

The food is exceptional the workers are very welcoming it seems like a family atmosphere even though you may not know anyone in there. The only problem we have is delivery they have Grub hub Uber etc.. I rather call in and make my order and get straight delivery from there in store delivery guy it's faster and the food is always hot and the guy is always pleasant. I personally do not wish to order from those other sites . My sis who lives in New Rochelle truly misses the place she used to get delivery from the sugar bowl back in the days by their driver. She has tried all outlets each time was very unsatisfied. The waiting time is ridiculous. Other than that I would go visit I work in Yonkers we would love to order for lunch here but we refuse to use any of those door dash Uber or...

Been eating breakfast there over ten years and I am very happy w all my orders the chef.wait staf, and serves Have undoubtedly received great customer service training. 2 forks up, would eat again. Ive also introduced a lot pole to this place and have NEVER received and negative feedback.
