The Taco Project — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

I came here recently and had a completely different excellent experience than what some other reviews say. because my experience here has always been great. I went in last night with a couple friends and the service was awesome from start to finish. The staff was attentive without being pushy, and our server checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good.The staff was super friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in, and even though it was busy, our server checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. Our drinks came out quickly, and the margaritas were amazing definitely some of the best I’ve had in a while. Our drinks came out pretty fast (the margaritas are 🔥 btw), and our food followed shortly after hot, fresh and exactly what we ordered.

The vibe here is really chill too, good music and a fun atmosphere. I’ve been to plenty of spots where you feel like just another customer, but here they actually take time to make sure you’re comfortable.

Honestly, if you’re looking for good food, drinks, and friendly service, this is a solid spot. I’ll definitely keep coming back...

Went here tonight and will not be returning 8/17/25. The service there was terrible, they need a waitress or some organization because everyone was everywhere. After finally waving someone down to get our order, it took like 10 minutes just to receive our drinks. Then, we noticed that the people who came in 10 minutes after us received their entrees before us and we were waiting 30 minutes for our food. When I went to the counter to complain to the person who took our order (was a girl with long hair and a nose piercing) she realized that she never put our food in and asked if we still wanted it. We asked for complimentary drinks then in order to compensate our time and she said yes so we were about to order again just for her to ask us what complimentary meant. When I told her, she sucked her teeth and said “nah I can’t do that”. With the poor service, we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave but not once did she apologize and decided to ignore us afterwards, acting like she didn’t cause...

I had been wanting to try this new taco spot for a while, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype for me.

The place has a really nice vibe, and the staff were fantastic—attentive, friendly, and accommodating throughout the visit.

I started with the buffalo wings, which were actually pretty good. The dipping sauce they came with was flavorful and probably the highlight of the meal.

Then I tried the classic beef tacos on a hard shell, usually a reliable staple at any taco joint. But I was really let down. The beef lacked depth and flavor. I even tried dousing it in lime juice, hoping to bring some brightness or depth to the meat, but it didn’t help much. It just didn’t have that satisfying, crave-worthy taste I look for in a taco. I managed to finish it, but more out of effort than enjoyment.

I genuinely wanted to like this place, but based on this experience, it just didn’t hit the mark. Not sure...
