Nellie's House of Soul — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I wish I can give them negative TEN STARS. $57 wasted! Ribs were pork yuck! Nobody in my house eats pork and the poorly written menu on UberEats did not specify these were PORK RIBS!!! I tried to call to verify and to kindly remind the merchant to please check the order before it leaves the restaurant, and make sure that all items are included that are supposed to be but unfortunately THEIR phones did not work!! - I even tried to contact the merchant by texting the Uber driver requesting him to ask for a working phone number when he picked up my order- my Uber delivery driver said they turned the phones off and did not provide a phone number. SMH. Oh Cornbread was mentioned as part of this combo but they never gave us any cornbread for both orders - we requested Cabbage, Rice, and Gravy for the sides so on one order - instead, they gave us collard greens. Nobody called us to verify if that substitution would be OK with us, and they did not give us any gravy on the rice. The rice tasted old and not fresh. - Other order included mac & cheese and candy yams. The yams taste like Bruce’s candy yams from an CAN! Oh and the mac & cheese tasted like it never went into the oven and was crafted using old expired Velveeta cheese! The only thing they got right in this order was the plastic bag and the fact they included utensils those two things are the only thing they got right - Absolutely Terrible food it tasted awful I’m so upset I spent $57 on this trash even my dog...

When I first ate at this place, it was great. I mean Candy yams were great but lately I’m not sure what’s going on. The mac & cheese was scorch. It was just shells and cheese. The yams tasted as if they were cut up canned Mixture she put pineapples in it to sweeten it up, but you could tell that it was fresh as far as the Pepper, steak and rice. It was OK could’ve been better, but it was OK she made sure that she scraped out just enough to have one more plate full left. Other than that I just was supporting a black owned business it was great when I first ate there going back to it was not sorry to say it, but it was not. Food was great , great home cooked soul food I got the fried pork chops with dressing , Mac and cheese , yams , and greens and everything was fantastic pork chops nice and crispy fried to perfection and seasoned well , greens were good not too salty like other places also well seasoned , the yams were great nice and soft and sweet but not too sweet. The dressing was good nice taste too it , only thing I would change would be to take the meat out the dressing other then that everything was great.
