Okay, so this is gonna be a bit long; 1.) Staff: The staff is great, very welcoming, & I haven't had any bad experiences with them! They're always checking in to make sure you're good & you don't have any issues. They're always so nice! 2.) Food; so this is a multi-part-topic here. You have your choice of either "grill," "hotpot/soup," or both of these options. I usually do both as you get the best value. The food is all you can eat for 2 hours. -The tables all have an in-laid grill, & at least 2 spots for a hot-pot induction cooker to keep your soup hot/warm. -The staff warn you ahead of time, but they have oils for the grill that they highly recommend you use to prevent burning your own food. You can do mix ins, including freshly minced garlic or scallions, different types of oils (olive, vegetable, sesame, etc), spices and sauces, & even Kimchi, if I recall correctly. -If you don't want to cook your own food, then DO NOT COME HERE. I genuinely like the ability to cook & choose my own options, without the clean up I do at home to get the same result. -If you come with multiple people who get soup, each person gets their own soup base and can add their own stuff to it! But the grill is shared for the whole table. -The soup broth comes to your table, but since it is a buffet-style restaurant, you still have to go & get your additional toppings & fixings. They do have different types of broths, I usually get "healthy herbs," & I'm always pleased with how it tastes! - Most of the buffet is geared more towards the soups, with various noodles & sizes, along with different add-ins, including mushrooms, gyoza/dumplings, some seafood, & frozen slices of meat that are designed specifically for the soups. Cabbages & other lettuce are available as well. Their choices for the grill are a handful of proteins - chicken, pork, steak, & beef, but you season them yourself. Basic vegetables are available for grilling as well; different types of mushrooms, zucchini, corn broccoli, even pineapple slices. (To be fair, I'm not familiar with what can be grilled. They did have other options, but I'm not sure if they can be grilled or not, including prawns/shrimp, lotus root, etc.) -They also do have a limited "fried food" section, including French fries, fried rice, & more, & they do have some fruit slices, but be wary of the grapes; the seeds are still inside & I nearly broke a tooth when I tried to eat one. -That said, because it is an all you can eat buffet, there is a high risk of cross contamination, so vegans/vegetarians, you might have a hard time if proteins make you sick. - Taking home leftovers is NOT a thing here! - Alcoholic beverages are available, & the mixed drinks are really good, very sweet. Sodas are refillable. They also offer flavored lemonades and Boba drinks. They also have a bar if you are stuck waiting for a table on busy nights. 3.) The atmosphere is very nice, a little loud, but it's manageable! It gives off a "fun" kind of vibe. Almost k-pop-ish. They also have LARGE tables for groups of 6, so you don't have to split your party too severely if you've got a big crew. I like going by myself, though, & they're really chill about it! I'll go & relax, eating while enjoying a book, or watching a show on my tablet. However, be considerate if you plan to bring kids; there's no "kid menu," & they can be a hazard to the staff that handle hot grills if they're not behaved. I would NOT recommend bringing them if they are known for running off and causing mayhem. Plus, with the hot equipment at the table, they might just burn themselves. Speaking of, it can get toasty at the table because of the grill, just a slight warning! TL:DR; Good service and staff. you do cook your own food, limited vegetables for grilling, mainly protiens, best value is hotpot option or both, not just grilling. 2 hours of all you can eat. Fun atmosphere, good for multiple humans or if you're flying solo. Try not to bring kids. Overall, it's a great place to eat.

Kpot is a fun Korean hotpot and grilling buffet restaurant where you cook your own food. The prices are reasonable for a two hour AYCE. We've read and downloaded the menu online and watched a few youtubers at Kpots before coming here the first time, lol. Be aware there may be a surcharge if there is excessive food waste so we are realistic in how much we select. Upon entrance, we've been greeted pleasantly each time. There are many types of tables, several rooms, and music at a lower level than opening weeks. Each table is equipped for an individual soup pot for each guest. The built-in grill to diner ratios varies. Ask for a suitable table if you have a large group and everyone wants to grill. Keep in mind, the table must all choose the same option, either hotpot or grill, or both hotpot and grill. It costs slightly more to do both which is worth it for us. Order soup, white rice and drinks (drinks cost extra) from your server. I like the spicy seafood tofu soup and use it to cook my noodles, vegetables etc. If you don't like your stock, or need a refill, let the server know. There is a condiments/sauce/cooking oil station. A freezer with raw meats for the hotpot is next to sections with raw and/or marinated seafood or meats. There is a noodle area, a cooked food area, a vegetable section etc. Online website photos show the plethora of items. There are buffet tongs or ladles for selecting each item, and we like to go to each food section, select and bring our plates back to the table. Using a plate to carry bowls of dipping sauces, cooking oil etc. helps. We also select the raw foods and cooked foods separately to avoid carrying plates of raw items to the condiments or cooked food areas. In general, the marinated items are for grilling since they would change the flavors of the soup. We try not to overload the plates since spilling is possible, lol. Also, save room for dessert, the Japanese style cheesecake is delicious, very light and not too sweet. We've seen the servers explain the setup and process to newbies, turn on the grills and hotpots, take drinks, soup and white rice orders, take away our empty plates, switch out our charred grilltops at least two or three times, refill our soup pots or drinks etc. They also help each other out with table service when a server is busy with another table. Training to be a server here must be so different compared to other restaurants. Thank you to Sarah, Missy, Mike and everyone there, didn't catch all the names, for great service, and we appreciate everyone's hard work. Kpot is a busy, high energy, interactive and delicious addition to the dining choices in Syracuse. See you again soon, lol.

It not my first time coming here but definitely the last time. Never again! I visited K-POT in Syracuse on April 27, 2025, and encountered a serious issue. While enjoying my hot pot, I discovered a plastic object in it. I noticed it when my noodles were hanging on it; the plastic was stretchy and melting. I immediately informed a staff member, showing her the noodle hanging from the plastic. Instead of taking it seriously, her response was dismissive, she simply said, “Oh, sorry, do you want to talk to the manager?” and then walked away with a careless attitude. A few minutes later, a man approached me and took the plastic away, claiming, “I think it’s just something they put in the soup.” He went to the kitchen for 15 minutes and returned with a small bowl of mushrooms, insisting, “I did the investigation, and it’s just a mushroom.” This was completely different from what I had shown him, and he had already removed the evidence. I’m glad I took a picture before he came over and took it away. Throughout this ordeal, he didn't even apologize. I had been eating that pot for an hour before I discovered the melting plastic, it's unacceptable for customers to find something like that in their food. I expressed my disbelief to him, explaining that what I pulled out was not a stretchy mushroom, and thus I couldn’t continue eating. His response was a nonchalant, “Do you want a new soup?” I refused, as I was appalled by the way they handled the situation. I reached out to them to file a complaint, and I was taken aback by their unprofessionalism and blatant indifference. It is evident to me that plastic, likely something from the kitchen, somehow made its way into my pot. This raises serious concerns about their food safety practices that need to be addressed immediately.

Syracuse, New York is not particularly known for fine dining establishments. And KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is an adequate restaurant that fits this stereotype for Syracuse, New York. However, for Gigma's 20th birthday, KPOT lands on the complete opposite end of the spectrum as the best restaurant for this occasion. Gigma is known for his broad palate, so not just any restaurant would suffice for his consumption; especially for his 20th birthday party. Now, gigma was not the only one attending his birthday dinner. Accompanying him was Genwy, Gilo, Gweg, (as seen in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe on West Genesse St review) and me, Gari. It is important to note that Gilo and Gari have attended KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot about 2.5 weeks before. The minimum break in between KPOT visits is 2 weeks as doctors recommend that is the minimum amount of time for your body to reset from the trauma. We arrived at the establishment and were seated in no time. The large booth provided a snug and cozy pad for Gweg's bum. We were greeted with a waitress after about a 10 minute wait. She brought us some ice water and a diet coke for Genwy. We also ordered our hot pot bases, and they were brought out to us. That was the last we would have seen from our waitress for the rest of the night. Before she left, she gave us a helpful tip to put oil on the BBQ grill so the food doesn't stick to it. Thats a mistake Gilo and I made last time. Anyways, the 5 young men marched up to the buffet and it was time for battle. They started by making their sauce. KPOT has a great sauce station where you can choose from a variety of ingredients to tailor your sauce to your specifications. After the sauce, it was time to tackle to bulgogi. There is nothing special about the bulgogi along with any of the other meats, fish, or vegetables served at the buffet. However, the pure quantity of served made up for it. The boys started off strong with no hesitation in their next bite. However, nothing lasts forever. After about 30 minutes of force feeding meat down our throats, we started to slow down. Gweg made it past everyone else by a little bit but he can thank performance enhancers for that. We finished up with a birthday song given to our friend Gigma by the friendly staff. There are waitress was! Singing along with the rest of the KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot staff. They brought Gigma a complimentary cake which Gweg enjoyed, and they offered to take his meal off the bill. We left and of course not empty handed, but instead with about 4 ice cream cups per person (double that for gweg). We then made the snowy journey back home in the middle of April. Now, was this a cinderella story? No. Was this the best food of all time? No. Was this the best service or atmosphere from a dining establishment? No. KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is a good restaurant to go to on occasion– and that valuation is generous. Thank you KPOT for this experience and I will be back– probably.

P.S. Please have access to a bathroom readily available right after leaving KPOT...

My family and I went there Friday at 6:30 PM. We were seated at 7:30 PM. It was very loud (music wise and people wise as it was very busy), chaotic, and disorganized there was also a large dirty dish rack placed in the middle of the walk way to my left next to our table. My husband and I also had our 2-year old son with us whom they provided a high chair for as they allow children. At about 8 PM a manager approaches me and begins to start mumbling something inaudible as I can barely hear him because the music and atmosphere is so loud. I lean in closer and ask him what is he saying, he then says that a customer was complaining that my baby was too loud and he just wanted to come over and make it look like he said something. At this point I am flabbergasted and taken back because again it’s very loud and chaotic in the place to the point where I can barely hear the manager, so I tell him well there is nothing that’s going to be done about that as my baby is 2 YEARS OLD and is just that A BABY, and the restaurant obviously allows for children as they have high chairs and booster seats. I explain to him that there are children everywhere in almost every setting so if said customers have an issue they can eat at home or come address me directly and I will explain this to them. My waiter notices the exchange and asks what happened, I explained to him what happened and let him know that we would no longer be dining here and if he can get me another manager. He advises me he will get the manager, apologized for the exchange and says he will see if the manager can comp the meal as we have barely touched anything on our plates. A female manager approaches I explain the situation to her, she offers to comp 20% of our meal and bring us a new grill and apologizes for the inconvenience. I advised her a new grill will not be necessary as my entire appetite was lost at this point and I am pissed. I told her she can comp the entire meal as we did not have a chance to eat and would not finish dining here ESPECIALLY after a manager comes to me basically telling me my baby is a problem. The female manager leaves and then comes back and said she will comp my meal and my husbands meal she will comp 20% when again he hadn’t even had the chance to start eating before all of this took place. The original manager who originally approached me made it known which table he was referring to so at this point we addressed the table that felt like the manager should come and tell us our 2 year old baby is making to much noise in an already loud and Chaotic environment. In summary the police were called and the officers had the managers comp the entire meal and agreed that it was ridiculous and asinine to disrupt my meal about a 2 YEAR OLD BABY making to much noise in a place that has loud music playing and over 50 guests so again it’s already loud.

Rating 0/10 would not recommend. Managers need to be retrained and provide better...
