A BBQ restaurant that is inches away from being really good.

Place was packed at lunch time, always a good sign. About a ten minute wait for us to get a table.

Brisket - The real test of any barbecue restaurant is how well they prepare their brisket. This one was dry. It did not pull apart into the 'honeycomb' that you like to see, nor did it sag over your finger into a U. Bark was nice and black, but did not have the salt & pepper taste you expect. Smoke Ring was excellent though.

Collard Greens - on the Specials menu. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, without being too soft. Highly recommended.

Pulled Pork Sandwich - a rather bland meat here. Bun was good, but pork was way under-seasoned. You are certainly going to want to sauce this one up.

Mac and Cheese - homemade, with a great caramelized cheese crust. Not too much flavor, really needed some celery seed to give that classic BBQ M&C taste.

Chicken Wings - juicy, crunchy skin and great color, but again, no seasoning at all. Have you ever had to salt and pepper wings in your life?

Fries - good, similar to those "twice fried" fries at that other restaurant.

Pulled Chicken Sandwich - dry, my grandma hated it. Really needed some seasoning and a few pickle slices.

BBQ Sauce - 'open pit' style, so you probably can't complain.

Toast - just toast, no garlic like a Texas Toast normally is served.

Even though the place was packed, service was absolutely stellar.

Don't miss the Bowl of take home Dog Bones on your way out.

If you are imagining BBQ like Franklin's, Black's or Slows, Wolf Creek is not that... but it seems like with some careful seasoning, they could kick this place into a way...

This was our first trip to the restaurant. We found it by chance after doing a Google search for restaurants in the area because we couldn't decide what we wanted to eat. Being huge fans of barbecue, we decided to give it a try. The servings were more than satisfactory with plenty of leftovers. I ordered the pulled chicken, cowboy beans, and Brunswick stew. My husband ordered the rib tips, coleslaw, and Brunswick stew. I have never gotten so much food! Even though I did end up putting some of their delicious sauce on my chicken, it was very good without it. I don't normally care for a chunky style Brunswick stew but this was absolutely delicious & I'd never had cowboy beans but I can tell you we will be going back soon & order both the stew & the beans. I could make a meal out of the beans by themselves. My husband's rib tips were absolutely delicious. He received more than enough ribs for a meal. He, too, loved the beans & stew. We weren't able to order dessert because we were so full from our meal but we both will be trying something next time. Most importantly, the price for our meals was stunning! We couldn't believe how affordable it was. This is our new, favorite barbecue restaurant & plan on getting some family members to go with us next week! I also have to mention how nice the staff was. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Did I say just how good & affordable the food is? If I didn't, the food is awesome & exceptionally priced (lol)! Maybe next time I'll remember to take pictures of the food and won't jump right in &...

FIVE TIMES IN A ROW MY ORDER HAS BEEN WRONG. Only ONCE was it fixed to my satisfaction. 1.Forgot banana pudding I paid for 2.Gave me a turkey sandwich instead of a large brisket sandwich on toast. They didn’t even fix it correctly because my brisket sandwich remake was on a bun. MULTIPLE TIMES have the hot sauce I’ve ordered and paid for not been there. Once a whole entree was forgotten. I only received the money back for my one entree that was completely incorrect. Haven’t received money back for the total of like 8 hot sauces that have been left out, or the banana pudding missing.

When I call to get this fixed TWICE was I put on hold for over 10 minutes. So long I drove up there and showed the guy at the counter how I was STILL on hold after driving all the way there.

I have lost 3.5 hours of my sundays having to drive back to get this fixed.

All I’ve gotten is 🤷 we’re busy on Sundays sorry!

My fault I guess for not checking my complete order and taking it all out of the bag to check that what I ordered was correct. That shouldn’t be on me to do.

I love the food but the Togo service is among the worst I’ve had in a...

The FULL RACK of RIBS were the same size as BABY BACK RIBS!!! ********************************** (PHOTO INCLUDED FOR REFERENCE) This is a photo of my tiny ribs and my daughter's normal size ribs. Small mustard pack is to give you a better idea of what I am talking about. I even asked if it was the regular size ribs, and my husband asked if they were St. Louis style ribs, not baby backs when I ordered. The waitress said they were St. Loius style and a good size. We were completely shocked when they came to the table. Our daughter and her husband ordered ribs on their 3 meat plate. Their ribs were normal size. I asked what the difference was in the two different kind of ribs and the waitress said they were the same. 🤷‍♀️ I have eaten here several times before and this has never happened. The food was very good. I wouldn't be so disappointed if when I asked the girl if they were normal sized ribs, not baby back, if she would have said that they weren't baby back, but were the size of baby back.

First time visiting this restaurant, which is located in an older line of stores. Without having looked for places to eat in Clarkesville, you may miss it. The line of cars and trucks outside was a good sign to begin with. We were seated quickly and service was same. This older restaurant could use a bit of deep cleaning. Sauce container lids were grimey from daily handling, same with plastic tablecloths. Ordered regular pulled pork and fries, which were served quickly. It was fantastic! Lean, tender pork and fries done to golden perfection! I have never enjoyed such a good, reasonably priced bbq lunch. The staff are pleasant and quick. Continually checking tables for your needs. In these post-Covid times, when have you had that kind of service? If you are in the Clarkesville area, do look for this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
