I've come twice now and can't really recommend it. First time I did like it and the bacon wrapped dates are great but for the price and the amount of food you actually get, won't be back. Food's not bad but not good either. Just okay. There's some things that stand out but overall, it's been average. They're pretty expensive though especially considering what you get. I know when you say that about a locally owned place, they say their costs are higher and I get that. But I can directly compare what we got today with another locally owned restaurant and you'll see what I mean. Keep in mind, the other locally owned restaurant gives you chips as well. Wait times are slow as well and there were three other tables when we came in. First waiter we had was so overly attentive that we had to ask him to stop coming by because he was interrupting constantly and the second one was the opposite to the point we had to get someone else for the dessert order.
Appetizer - Spinach dip - Cap's was $12, only 8 small triangles of pita bread and a relatively small portion. Tasty. Other restaurant was $10, a more generous portion, and lots more dippables.
Lunch 1 - kids meal hamburgers - Cap's was $7 and only came with fries. Had to pay $3 for a drink and $.50 for cheese so total was $10.50. Burger was okay but dry. Fries were good however. Other local restaurant was also $7 for the same meal but came with a drink
Lunch 2 (this one really got me) - Club sandwich with fries - Cap's was $14 and was the skimpiest club I've ever had served (Pictures below. I know the other restaurant is stock but it's always had that amount of meat when I've ordered it). The bacon was not cooked well and had no crunch to it and again, $14 for two slices of bread, one slice of turkey, one slice of ham, a tomato slice, a piece of lettuce and fries. The other restaurant looks like it does below, comes with honey mustard, and costs $13 and tastes better because of the amount of meet and the cheese they use (gouda and havarti). I get two meals out of it because of the size. My daughter will out of this one but that's because she's 11.
Lunch 3 - 12 oz New York Strip, salad, loaded baked potato - Kap's was $31. It was cooked perfectly. Exactly medium but it wasn't seasoned well. A well seasoned steak doesn't need a sauce but this one did. More salt would give it a better crust as well. Salad was okay but the lettuce was a little limp and because it was served on a plate, made eating it harder. Good ranch. Baked potato was small but like that they they salt the skins but again, could have used more. The other place doesn't have strip but does have ribeye and those tend to be close in price with some having ribeye more. The 12 oz Rib eye goes for 25.99 at the other place has always been cooked right and is seasoned better for sure.
Lunch 4 - Chicken Parm - Kap's was $16 and the first fair priced item. This was the best of the meal and it was maybe above average. Sauce was okay but nothing to write home about. Pasta was cooked well but could have used more sauce. Chicken was crispy and cooked well but only one piece. Might be the first time I've ordered a pasta dish that didn't come with garlic bread or something though. Overall good tasting and priced fair. Other place is $20 but comes with two chicken breasts instead of one, more spaghetti, has garlic bread, and tastes better. I've literally eaten four portions from one order.
Dessert - Reese's Peanut butter Cheesecake - I never have room for dessert from the other place so can't compare but Kap's had it for $8 which is fair. It was really tasty.
I just want to stress that I'm not upset about paying the prices. I saw what they were when I ordered them and have no issues paying that much if the food reflects it but it didn't at all. I was excited to have another sit down and local place to eat at but the quality/quantity would have to go up or the prices re-evaluated before we'd come back. Meal total of above a beer and a...
Read moreWe've eaten here a couple of times in person and a couple via take-out. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The place is comfortable, while by no means "elegant".
Our most recent visit was a take-out.
We had the Bacon Wrapped Dates, one of our favorite dishes for many years, since we first had them at a tapas restaurant. This version is different from most we've had, in that the dates are stuffed with Manchego cheese, which we think is a very nice improvement.
My wife ordered the French Onion Soup, which we both thought was really tasty. Even as a to-go item, it had a great tasting broth, good bread layer, and generous amount of cheese melted on top.
I ordered the Caprese Salad. The Mozzarella was beautiful. I am hopeful that as we get into tomato season, they'll look at using some local / heirloom tomatoes, though these were acceptable. I don't recall any other place that had the addition of pesto, and I really liked this addition to the balsamic glaze that is typical of a Caprese Salad.
For a "main", my wife had the patty melt, which was quite good. I had the Bleu & Red Burger (for the 2nd time), which I really enjoyed. (For me, it could have been a bit spicier with a little more sriracha.)
Each of our sandwiches came with a side, which defaults to French Fries. My wife swapped for a Side Salad for a $2 upcharge, which she liked quite well. Since I already had the Caprese Salad, I swapped for a Baked Potato (with butter and sour cream) that was cooked perfectly.
I should comment on why we swapped out the fries. Cap's joins nearly everyone else in Clarksville at not knowing how to make crispy fries, even after crispy fries are requested.
Anyway, we'll continue eating here. And if they ever mention to me that they've learned how to make crispy fries, I'll...

Truly disappointing experience.
Stopped into CAP’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill with my wife and our 9-month-old daughter, hoping for a quick bite before running errands. The restaurant was nearly empty—just a couple patrons at the bar and one table seated—yet we stood at the entrance for over six minutes without being seated.
A bartender told us she’d be right with us, then vanished. A male server finally appeared, assumed we were with another couple who had walked in after us, and then told us to “sit wherever you like.” Not exactly welcoming, but we sat ourselves. He dropped menus at the table and started to walk away, so I asked if we could have a high chair for our baby. His response: “I’ll bring one in a minute,” without even turning around.
At that point, we decided to leave. No one apologized. No one asked if there was an issue. They simply cleared the menus off the table, actually watched us in the window getting into our vehicle, and then moved on like we were an inconvenience.
We ended up going to the nearby Ruby Tuesday, where the food was average but the service was worlds better. We were greeted, seated immediately, offered a high chair, and treated like actual guests.
CAP’s made it very clear they’re not interested in offering even basic hospitality. First visit—and absolutely the last. If you have a family, or just expect to be acknowledged when you walk into a restaurant, do yourself a favor and eat...
