Update 9-2-2021
Same problems, different wait staff. Gave it another shot. Was served a taco salad that was literally half full of grease and water. Taco soup is the way my girlfriend put it. Our waiter, Manny, wanted to argue that that's how it always comes. Offered an alternate order or a remake. Second one came out perfect, and admittedly delicious, but our waiter was obviously mad and did not offer to refill my drink and ceased to check in after the remade order was tabled. Really poor service and the second wait staff to pull this sort of excuse for the kitchen instead of apologizing and moving on. Adding insult to injury, hot sauce bottle was filthy (again, see pictures from this time and last), missing it's top, and looked like someone chewed on it. Dos Margaritas might be out of second chances from me to reclaim the high rating their food and location desperately deserves.
Previously, at Dos Margaritas:
Was recently introduced to this Mexican restaurant and I love the food and drinks. Unfortunately tonight I had an unpleasant experience. I got the taco salad (which I have before here) and it was literally swimming in grease (see attached picture). At the end of the meal I politely asked our waitress, Sandy, to please let the cooks know they need to drain the meat. She told me "they're always like that". Apparently they weren't last week when I was there, eating a taco salad, Sandy. Lost two stars for poor waitressing and table cleanliness. It's too good to give it a 1 star even though I...
Read moreI enjoyed the famous vegetarian plate and my husband enjoyed his enchiladas. It was what I think of when I think of American Mexican sit down fast food. (A lot of that processed melted queso all over everything, but I consider that to be a comfort food so I am not knocking it. If that is not your thing, be sure to say so!) A lot of high class people have raved about the service but we must have had an off night for service. I took off a star because at least 10 minutes passed after we were seated before a waitress came to take our order. Then I thought we were forgotten because about 20 more minutes passed before we got our food. Then our server didn't check on us to see if we needed anything. I ordered pico de gallo, which never came and I didn't have a chance to remind her because she was out of sight the entire time we ate. My husband wanted to order a beer, which he didn't get to do because she didn't check on us. We will probably try again because the food was decent. Some restaurants are known for going in and waiting a while for food and it is considered fine and to be expected so I don't know what the standard is in this particular restaurant. The place seemed clean and the decorations are unique. I think it is worth...
Read moreLo, how the mighty hath fallen! This will be our last visit to Dos Margaritas for a while. I think they've had a major change-up with their employees. We ate here on a Saturday and the place was just very confused. We got seated promptly, but we waited over ten minutes for someone to finally take our order. And then, we waited ten to fifteen minutes for two combination meals. The phone kept ringing at the register and the "bing" of one of the food delivery services continued over and over again. It just looked like no one was really running the store. I thought the food today was just awful. I had a #14 combination with a chile relleno, a tamale, and a burrito. The burrito was just cooked ground beef with a tortilla wrapped around it. The ground beef was unseasoned. It could have been just a hamburger wrap. The relleno was hard to negotiate because the chile pepper was really tough, like it wasn't cooked thoroughly. The tamale was almost passable. I left over half of it uneaten. Yes, we told the manager that the food sucked and why, but weren't offered any form of refund. For now, go somewhere else in Clarksville where many Mexican restaurants want to earn your hard-earned money. Dos Margaritas today just...
