We're camping at Algonac State Park for our usuall twice a year trip to take freighter pictures on the St. Clair River. We live down by Monroe (La Salle) and see plenty of freighters but we can't get close to them to take pictures. Our latest experience at Catch 22 was certainly not a disappointment as the food and the atmosphere were both beyond great. If anyone is a Chris Craft boat fan then you absolutely have to make this a stop while you're in Algonac. Right across the street from the old CC factory the building is loaded with some very unique photos and items! I worked for a major CC dealer back in my younger days and there are things here I've never seen! And now about our server (I'm old and still prefer waitress). I've already used some superlatives to describe the food and the service but it's always that server that makes or breaks the evening and this one was absolutely awesome to speak with. I spent time in Europe in the Army and have European routes so we had a great time talking about our European heritages. Besides be a great conversationalist she was there to check up on us every few minutes. The only complaint I had about the whole evening is that we couldn't have just sat and talked to her longer. Thank you so much to the entire staff and especially to Hatima!!! You are beyond awesome! Looking forward to getting back next spring to spend some time on the river...
Read moreI love Catch 22 Bistro!! The food is excellent and the wait staff are very pleasant, courteous and prompt. You don't have to sit and wait forever to get a menu or a glass of water (unlike some other establishments in town) and they give you sufficient time to peruse the menu and make your choice.
The food is excellent and the prices are quite good for the quality and portion sizes. They have different specials every day as well as the regular menu items. The menu has different fish choices as well as Prime Rib and steak (one of my favorites) and they are both cooked to your liking from rare to well done.
Each dinner comes with you choice of either salad or homemade soup. It's hard to choose which one to order because they are both superb. If you have room after eating your dinner, they also have a good selection of desserts to round out your dining experience.
The Catch 22 also has a liquor license so you can order either beer or a cocktail, if you wish. There is always a manager available to insure your dining experience is satisfactory. Don't be surprised if he makes it to your table to inquire how your dinner was. 😊
If you were lucky enough to have ever eaten at either Henry's, Sid's on the Seaway, or the original Port O' Call (that was located next to the Harsens Island ferry)... The Catch 22 Bistro will whisk you back in time to when eating out was a true dining experience at an...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I [attempted] to order dinner carryout from Catch 22. We went to the website to view the various menu options and then phoned in our selections. When my girlfriend went to pick up our food, she was told that what I had ordered (parmesan crusted chicken breast) came from the lunch menu and that I would have to choose another option. Obviously I know how to read, and the food I ordered came from the dinner menu. The issue ended up being that the individual who took down our orders made a mistake, but rather than sorting out the confusion and making sure I got the food I asked for, they told me I had to choose something else. I ended up purchasing nothing from Catch 22 and will not return. How an establishment who does business in such an absent minded way earns a 4+ star review rating on google is beyond me but I suspect it's likely due to the lack of dining options available in the Algonac area. One would think that businesses like this one would care more about customer satisfaction following the damaging impact that the pandemic had on the food and hospitality industries but I suppose that just makes too much sense. The image attached to my review is a screenshot of the item I ordered from the dinner menu, which I was told was not available. I even used my computer crayon to draw a box around it so that Catch 22 might learn...
