Cabin Break Room — Restaurant in Clear Lake

2021 June Could have been a great 4 star possible 5 if I had been served promptly on entering and a couple things about the food were better. Now the food, had the 3 point sliders. Dill chicken was good but way over cooked, meaning breading was dry as was the chicken itself. Bacon cheeseburger was as you would want a bacon cheeseburger to be, meaty, cheesy and with bacon. The pulled pork; the pork was really dry but the sauce they use on it was delicious and almost made up for the dry pork. Service after bartender initially found me was very good, maybe because I was the only patron left? Overall the prices are good and the place is clean with a great variety of menu items. I will eat here again and continue to try their enormous menu.

Update: Stopped In the next Sunday and had the “veterinarian” (fish sandwich) w/fries and it was a good fish except, fries were over cooked and I had a piece of the tartar sauce squeeze bottle in my sandwich. The bartender took care of me when I had a problem with the sandwich. But at least the bartender(sister-in-law) took care of the issue I had with my fish sandwich. It’s still only a 3 star only for the sister-in-law bartending.

Update. Forward to 2025 and I love this bar; great great food. Ownership is much more helpful now and the weekday day bartender is the best. Excellent people frequent this establishment and I enjoy their daily specials several...

I've only lived in Clear Lake for a few weeks, but have eaten at the Cabin several times already. I've not been disappointed. Tuesday is 3 dollar taco night. They've 4 different kinds; ground beef, fish, chicken, and pulled pork. I tried the chicken and ground beef last week. Both very good. Tonight I had another chicken and then the pulled pork. OMG! I've never had that delicious a taco in my life ! I was almost full, but couldn't help ordering another one. One had a crunchy corn shell, and the other, she fried a tortilla. I can't remember everything that is on the pork, but I know it has black beans, corn, and a cilantro sauce that is phenomenal. This place used to be awesome. We just went for a couple of beers and some supper and were sorely dissatisfied. There was one person serving 6 of us. She must not have been properly trained. She stayed in the kitchen the whole time an order was cooking. Everyone had empty drinks while she made 1 fish dinner and one wing dinner. All deep fried. This place used to be brimming full of people by 5 pm on a Friday night, or most nights for that matter, and now I know why it is not any longer.
