La Chilanguita Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Clearlake

This is our second visit. The first experience was positive. The only drawback was a minor wait.This time around, the wait was unusually prolonged. My husband's pozole was satisfactory, according to him, but I was disappointed with my mole. The rice was served cold, and the chicken appeared to have been boiled, with the sauce poured over it. Unfortunately, the sauce was overwhelmingly spicy, which overpowered the flavors of chocolate and other typical ingredients in this dish.Although I appreciate spicy cuisine, I couldn't finish the dish. I placed an order for tacos to go, asking for 2 grilled chicken tacos and 2 beef in separate containers, as they were intended for 2 separate people. Regrettably, they were all packaged together.Upon asking if the items could be separated, the cook, a lady, merely grabbed two containers and handled them separately with her bare hands. Furthermore, I specifically requested grilled chicken, but we ended up with boiled chicken. This experience has led me to vow never to return. Food is good BUT!! The girl who waited on our table was rude and lied right to our faces about our to go order. We put in the to go order at the same time as our eat in order. I specifically told her to make the order half way through our meal she said ok.she came back with my friends to go order and told me that mine was on its way. Time went by and I got up to ask where my to go order was and she told me that I had NO to go order, I was shocked. There was another woman standing next to her and I told her what she had done. The girl told me that sometimes she would say yes to customers when taking their orders but she didn't always listen to the customer but she would just say yes to the order but not actually take the order. So she has done this to other customers about lying in taking an order and saying yes to the order but in reality she didn't even write it down or take the order. And she admitted to it like it was no big deal. Her actions will be the down fall of her...

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to in my entire life. As soon as we walked in, we realized it was about 100 degrees inside the restaurant and there were flies crawling all over us. After ten minutes, we were finally able to order. The margaritas are $13 glasses of Sprite. By this point, we were very hot and sweating a lot, so we asked them to cancel the food order and just bring the drinks so we could leave. They said "yes, okay." The third person still hadn't received their drink, so we were waiting for that so we could go -- and then they brought the food (even though we had cancelled the food order!!). I just paid for it so we could get the hell out of there -- and it was $88!! An absolutely ridiculous amount for the the terrible quality of food.
