Based on positive feedback and reviews on Next Door Neighbor I took a party of 10 here for Xmas. It started with a basket of rolls and butter and all the rolls were black and burnt. My daughter's steak had to be returned 3 times because it was raw inside and a family member had to finally come out and apologize. My rigatoni with vodka sauce looked and tasted like a bowl of Campbell's cream of tomato soup with chunks of mushy pasta dough. The waitress looked at it and shook her head in disappointment so I returned it and got chicken piccata which was three little ultra thin sliced 3 " round over boiled pieces of chicken in white lemon vinegar sauce. One of my guest's rack of lamb was 3 ultra small chops that were sliced to be no thicker than a quarter for $45. My son's lamb chops were supposed to be grilled and marinated in garlic herbs and olive oil but were served fried with very little seasoning or taste. This was a very costly disappointment. Numerous restaurants have all opened and closed in this Clearwater - Largo Road location so combine poor expensive overpriced food with poor location and it will be another foreseeable...

First, the establishment has a small but notable wine selection with a ample choice of varietals. Our server was pleasant and helpful. My wife and I shared the beef carpaccio which was outstanding. The meat was so tender and the parmesan cheese was delicate yet sharp. The whipped mustard was a perfect accompaniment. Our entrees came with soup or salad. My wife ordered the house salad and I ordered the potato broccoli soup. The salad was just a typical house salad. The soup, while a little thin for my taste, was very flavorful. I hade the Mediterranean Grilled Branzino. It was served with potatoes and fresh grilled vegetables which were superbly cooked. Likewise, the branzino was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I would have liked it it was fileted for me tableside, but I understand and it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment. My wife enjoyed the tender Short Ribs served with a tasty risotto. After dinner we shared a hazelnut cake that was a perfect ending. The espresso was a little bitter but I usually supply my own Anisette which I neglected to bring. This will definately be a place I add to my dining...

Made reservations ahead of time and was seated immediately upon arriving. They had an outside front patio with tables and 2 dining areas and we had the option of a table or a booth. We chose the booth. Our waiter said they are known for their Espresso Martini's so we ordered them while we looked over the menu. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and portion size . They have a large selection of wines also . As an appetizer we had the Giant Pretzel and the Smoked Gouda. For our main entrée I ordered the Veal Schnitzel with Truffle Mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the Tuscan Shrimp and potato and broccoli soup , and a friend ordered the Veal Parmesean with pasta . Everything was absolutely delicious! I also forget to mention while you are waiting to order they brought out fresh hot rolls with an olive oil herb and balsamic vinegarette . That too was delicious. Over all , our 1st time there will not be our last! Three dinners,2 appetizers,4 cocktails and 2 soft drinks came to $154 . We were 100% satisfied with everything about the Daily News...

Wonderful dinner! Amazing flavor and terrific service. This menu and environment is a whole new experience for Daily News and is very different from their other location. This is absolutely the best restaurant in Largo and rivals any top rated restaurant in all of Pinellas County. The Grilled Octopus is one of the best I ever had anywhere, if not the best. Tender and grilled perfectly. The Chicken Parmigiana was a pan fried delight with a light and crispy full flavored breading and moist chicken interior, complimented by home made potatoes and fresh vegetables. The Rigatoni al la vodka sauce. Wow! The best I ever had anywhere in the country. I have eaten at many Italian and Italian inspired places, even in New York's Little Italy and Boston's North End. This dish is the real thing. Compliments to the chef. The texture and flavor of this dish is beyond words. Just try it for yourself. It's a very hearty and pallette satisfying experience. Eeyore's experience. 5 of 5 tail wags! Even a few days after eating here, it's satisfyingly memorable.

Enjoyed a late Saturday evening meal at the Daily News Restaurant. I almost always order the lamb, which is my all-time favorite, hands down. However, I ordered duck this particular night. The duck was perfect.... honestly, it was outstanding with a perfect crust on the edge & a little bite of heat in the sweet sauce. The duck was accompanied by fresh green beans with just the right snap and some delicious mashed potatoes. I also love their house salad, and the fresh, homemade bread served with the premium olive oil and balsamic vinegar is scrumptious. I was so full, so I ended up getting my strawberry shortcake to go. It was yummy! I love the staff and owners; they are all kind, attentive, and personal, making my visit feel comfortable and welcoming. Bottom line: I love this place! Great for romantic moments or a place to go before an event.

Absolutely loved our first visit to the Daily News Restaurant. Tom kept us entertained, answered all our questions, & was a pleasure to have him serve us. All the staff was super friendly, chief made our meal amazing & the desserts, yes we did try them all, most was to die for! We "WILL" be coming back. If your looking for something new & different "this is" a must try! Thanks Tom for making our first time dining here a absolute pleasure! Just added a picture of what we had, the lamb rack was amazing, I get all my meat rare I believe it's the best flavor, girlfriend had the lamb chop which was also good! Favorite of the desserts was tiramisu, pistachio cake, & the temptation cake! I love tiramisu, Girlfriend not so much but she liked the Daily News so much that had to split in half, which next time I know to get two of them!
