Based on positive feedback and reviews on Next Door Neighbor I took a party of 10 here for Xmas. It started with a basket of rolls and butter and all the rolls were black and burnt. My daughter's steak had to be returned 3 times because it was raw inside and a family member had to finally come out and apologize. My rigatoni with vodka sauce looked and tasted like a bowl of Campbell's cream of tomato soup with chunks of mushy pasta dough. The waitress looked at it and shook her head in disappointment so I returned it and got chicken piccata which was three little ultra thin sliced 3 " round over boiled pieces of chicken in white lemon vinegar sauce. One of my guest's rack of lamb was 3 ultra small chops that were sliced to be no thicker than a quarter for $45. My son's lamb chops were supposed to be grilled and marinated in garlic herbs and olive oil but were served fried with very little seasoning or taste. This was a very costly disappointment. Numerous restaurants have all opened and closed in this Clearwater - Largo Road location so combine poor expensive overpriced food with poor location and it will be another foreseeable...
Read moreFirst, the establishment has a small but notable wine selection with a ample choice of varietals. Our server was pleasant and helpful. My wife and I shared the beef carpaccio which was outstanding. The meat was so tender and the parmesan cheese was delicate yet sharp. The whipped mustard was a perfect accompaniment. Our entrees came with soup or salad. My wife ordered the house salad and I ordered the potato broccoli soup. The salad was just a typical house salad. The soup, while a little thin for my taste, was very flavorful. I hade the Mediterranean Grilled Branzino. It was served with potatoes and fresh grilled vegetables which were superbly cooked. Likewise, the branzino was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I would have liked it it was fileted for me tableside, but I understand and it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment. My wife enjoyed the tender Short Ribs served with a tasty risotto. After dinner we shared a hazelnut cake that was a perfect ending. The espresso was a little bitter but I usually supply my own Anisette which I neglected to bring. This will definately be a place I add to my dining...
Read moreMade reservations ahead of time and was seated immediately upon arriving. They had an outside front patio with tables and 2 dining areas and we had the option of a table or a booth. We chose the booth. Our waiter said they are known for their Espresso Martini's so we ordered them while we looked over the menu. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and portion size . They have a large selection of wines also . As an appetizer we had the Giant Pretzel and the Smoked Gouda. For our main entrée I ordered the Veal Schnitzel with Truffle Mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the Tuscan Shrimp and potato and broccoli soup , and a friend ordered the Veal Parmesean with pasta . Everything was absolutely delicious! I also forget to mention while you are waiting to order they brought out fresh hot rolls with an olive oil herb and balsamic vinegarette . That too was delicious. Over all , our 1st time there will not be our last! Three dinners,2 appetizers,4 cocktails and 2 soft drinks came to $154 . We were 100% satisfied with everything about the Daily News...
