Placed an online order 35-40min in advance for a dozen bagels and a couple cream cheese. One would think this is ample time for the staff to put a bunch of untoasted bagels and cream chees tubs in a bag... but unfortunately this was not the case. I arrived about 5-10min after my scheduled pick-up time of 08:25 and to my surprise, it wasn't ready on the shelf. I was greeted by a pleasant young lady at the register to whom I mentioned that I ordered ahead. She took my name and communicated with the other staff that I am here and I had an order online.
5 minutes go by... maybe they are just starting to put together my order now? Unfortunately, I was getting crunched for time and I did not account for much more time spent waiting for an online order that I thought would be ready 15min ago. Throughout my wait, I notice a woman in her mid-50s with a green "Catering" polo who probably has a supervisory role talking quite condescensingly to the rest of the younger staff. She seemed to be micromanaging everything that everyone else was doing.
Now 10 minutes go by... Another young staff member once again asks for my name and then tells me that my order has been put together but just needs to be "confirmed." I'm guessing the micromanaging supervisor is also the one I'm ultimately waiting on to check if my order was put together correctly... Unfortunately, she was too busy being all over the kitchen and failed to prioritize a pretty simple online order scheduled for pick-up 20 minutes ago by this point. At this point I decide to walk up to the counter and someone else asks my name once again. I think I see my bag sitting behind the counter. Another younger woman who seems to be a middle manager with a blue polo and glasses simply hands me the bag. No apology. No explanation for the delay. The order ultimately ended up being almost 30min late from the scheduled pick-up time and almost a full hour from when the order was placed online.
This was an unacceptable delay for a very simple order that doesn't even require any cooking time. It's just bagels being put into a to-go bag... something that should not take an hour. It seems like the kitchen is very inefficiently run and there is a palpable level of stress and hostility in the atmosphere among...
Read moreI have been at this Panera Bread since it has opened years ago. Every single time I have been there, there are long lines with only a single cashier who is clueless of how to check out anything and only 1 or 2 baristas. Their portions have severely decreased along the years to toddler sized portions while prices have skyrocketed. By the time your order comes out, it is cold and some of the time the order isn't even correct. They have removed side pieces that used to come with meals such as a bread stick or chips. The few times I've gotten it they were only a handful in size, a sampler at best. What is most disappointing of all is that I've been a customer part of their loyalty service program, and every time I was ready to claim my free meal for the next visit they would tell me no prior purchases would appear on my account. It didn't matter how often or not I would purchase or the amounts I'd spend on to wrack up points. It would be the same story every time. I let it stupidly slide for years, until last time I took my mother for Mother's Day as a surprise banking on the free meal was supposed to be valid this time. I had it loaded up on the app that it was still active and they STILL denied it saying it was simply an "error". The was my breaking point and realized I needed to stop giving this company my sales. We were even overcharged and extra 2 plates and a side the same day and they refused to refund it or give us what we paid for. The staff are always rotating high school dropouts who pretend to be jocks and sororities always on their phones and laughing in the back kitchen. Their lines often extend outside of the facility. Their bathrooms are frequently out of toilet paper and their unvacuumed carpets stink to high hell. I simply cannot support this sham business anymore. Decide for yourself if these sound acceptable to you or not, but I'm long done...
