Cameron's — Restaurant in Cleveland

VERY odd experience for a place that is open for breakfast on a Sunday morning (November 6th, 2022). I had high hopes for this place only to walk away very disappointed.

It's normal when you walk in and see a sign that says to "seat yourself" but it is very odd when beside that sign is another sign that says, "if no tables are clean, wait for a clean one". After waiting for 5 minutes, we finally just went to see which dirty table we could manage BUT one of the wait staff saw us (finally) and found a clean one right next to the buffet. Good location, right? Finally got recognized as customers (I guess) and made our order for the breakfast buffet, a water and a coffee.

Gravy for the biscuits was warm, scrambled eggs were barely warm, diced potato's were cold and hard, sausage links were fresh but the other meat (offered for breakfast) was chicken fingers????....bacon was okay(when it was available.)

Now, there seemed to be some sort of process that the "wait staff" had that was fixed to where it made it seem like "out of towners" were not welcome....there was absolutely an issue on the wait staffs minds that told them that the customer may "just be here to visit".....instead of wanting to eat, pay for the "food" and leave. It took a good 20 minutes AFTER we were done eating to get the check. It was very odd.

Felt like we were not welcome there. We will oblige them and make that come true for them from now on. Mission...

When my husband went to pay for our food I told him to tell them that he didn't eat, because he was sick to his stomach and didn't feel like eating, he has medical problems, so it was just me and our 18 month old that ate and he did get a sweet tea to drink and he fed our 18 month old, well when he told the manager this she said didn't believe and went and rolled back the cameras and asked the waitress if he ate and the waitress told her no he was feeding the baby and the manger said " well because you took a bite of a egg we have to charge you for adult buffet because the cost food is not cheap." So because he took a bite of an egg to see if it was too hot for our 18 month old to eat, because they had just put a fresh batch of eggs out and I told him to check the eggs we got charged and Adult buffet that was not even eaten. Well, this place is very mom and pop. Some chatter we customers don't need to hear. Atmosphere didn't jump out at me in some good way. It just was not dirty nor extra old looking. It felt dark, so I looked up and found a black painted ceiling with lots of lights. I'm not sure why any establishment wants that, but oh well. A little music could have drowned out the behind the counter chatter. My waiter did come to my table and asked if everything was OK. The breakfast bar. They serve this all day every day. There was food there, lol. Eggs sausage the thick sausage ones. But they had to be told to bring fresh eggs out, and the white gravy was made kind of thin. I think that was brownies in a pan at the end of the food bar. But it was empty. I really hope they are able to afford stuff.

I kinda like the clippings made into the table to read. I won't jump and run back. But I feel they deserve another chance. Seems as though this could have been a bad day. YOU...
