FOOD ALLERGY SUFFERERS REJOICE.
So, first of all, this place has AWESOME food, which is always an obvious plus when rating a restaurant. ;) But the best part about this place is the amazing service and how well they know their ingredients. 0.0 I am allergic to dairy, wheat, gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and aspartame. And you know what? I STILL haven't tried all of the dishes that I can eat!! And I go there multiple times a month!!! They are a little pricey, as most Chinese is, unless you're getting the glorious dinner for "One". The amount of food you get is incredible.
And they offer substitutions (with in reason), especially if you need to for health reasons.
ABD DID I MENTION THE SOUP?! THEIR HOT AND SOUR SOUP IS ALLERGY FRIENDLY. SO IS THEIR PORK FRIED RICE. SO FLIPPIN GOOD!!!!
This place is amazing. I highly, HIGHLY recommend them. Be prepared to wait a little while if they're busy but it's soooo worth it. I typically get their bourbon chicken which sadly they don't have in the dinner for one section, but like I said, the price is worth it.
tl;dr? Allergy friendly place, fairly well priced, amazing staff, and delicious food. Try their hot and sour soup, pork fried rice, and bourbon chicken. I also love the chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki sticks and their...
Read moreI'm from out of town, St. Louis--and I can reasonably say this is the best take-out I've ever had as a visitor to another city. I say that comparing this food to three other nearby Glenville joints I've ordered from during my trip--China Mountain is the best. I ordered Bourbon Chicken, a dish I usually avoid but after having a bad experience with another joint the day before I settled on something I knew nobody could mess up. They surely didn't. More, it's not just chicken sitting in sauce, it's been grilled or stir fried with the sauce--so it's juicy and has a great texture. You won't find that any of the Glenville joints.
I bought this through UberEats, excited as literally nobody else in the city would deliver to 103rd Street. My only beef, and this is for UberEats, not China Mountain, is that I was not able to leave a tip for the delivery driver. I'm not sure the relationship between the two but to the driver Agora, thank you so much. Next time in town, I'll drop off some cash at the joint. I'm furious that I wasn't able to leave a tip--that's...
Read moreToday was not the day for China Mountain. My family have patronized this establishment for thirty plus years today we had an order delivered. For the first time ever the food was delivered in styrofoam containers that did not seal. One order was egg foo young, which has a sauce on it. The sauce had leaked out all over the entire contents of the bag with the other food items. The other meal: sweet and sour chicken combination plate. Then the food was if it had been prepared days before and reheated. I called China Mountain and proceeded to tell the "owner" that the container had leaked the sauce/ gravy all over the inside of the bag. He proceeded to blame the delivery driver and then myself. He said I should have ordered sauce on the side. I stated I had never received food in such a container when sauce was involved. To call or contact Uber Eats and then they could do...
