China Star — Restaurant in Cleveland

I am actually contacting the Board of Health on this place. I have seen other reviews about cleanliness and it's time something is done about it.

The other day I was killing time while getting some work done on my car. I walked into this place and ordered a veggie fried rice. Gave the cashier my $5 bill and they gave me change.

They immediately walked back and started grabbing veggies for the fried rice.

I yelled back to them that they should wash their hands first. They looked dumbfounded (well they just looked plain dumb actually) but they shuffled over to the sink and washed their hands. Then went back to the food prep area and continued.

I don't know how stupid you have to be think I would be ok with you washing your hands but still touching the food that had been previously contaminated. I yelled for them to come back to the register and give me a refund. They did and I walked out.

Funny thing is that while all of this was going on the kitchen had at least four other workers in it. Do you think any of them intervened and tried to correct the situation? Nope. That indicates the problem isn't with one worker but the entire staff.

You'd get cleaner food by dumpster diving at a reputable restaurant than to eat what these people...

I always order from them and this is the first time that I have had such horrible service! The lady answering the phone hung up on me 2 times before I even ordered. I shouldn’t have known then to just skip it. When I get her on the phone the third time I ask her why she keeps hanging up. She gets an attitude and said go ahead and order. So I order, she repeats it and I say no I want sweet and sour pork. The order comes and it’s wrong. So I call back up them to get my order right. I ask to speak to the manager and she says she is the manger and the owner isn’t there. I ask her to send my order out. She says yes and that she will send it out within 45 minutes. An hour passed and nothing comes. So I call back and ask to speak to the manger. Again she says she is the manger but that her boss said she cannot send it because it’s under 10.00 dollars. I spent 29 total for the order though. I won’t order from them again. Lesson learned. Someone should tell the owners that the girl answering the phones is rude and hanging up on...

My husband loves eating from this place so on Thursday he ordered his usual and ordered me chicken and broccoli with chicken fried rice and 2 spring rolls well I ate the spring rolls and some of the food he got me to start off I had waited so long to eat this and I enjoyed it until a few hours later I felt nauseous and sick to my stomach well ended up throwing up from the food got food poisoning had pain in my stomach so bad and not to be nasty but black stools meaning there was some type of bacteria in the food I will never ever eat food from here again it scared my hubby to see what happened to me after I ate the food that he couldn't even finish his food due to being scared that he would end up like me I would of posted something earlier but today I am feeling better after being layed out for 2 days due to this so please be very careful when ordering, if I could give this place 0 stars I would but unfortunately they...
