This is a very poorly managed coffee shop. I don't expect it to remain in business for long.
After placing my order this morning, I found what I received was not what I had ordered. I took it back to the counter and the server replace the order with what I had originally ordered. Upon returning to my seat, I looked at my receipt an noticed they had charged me for the ingredient I didn't order. I returned to the counter and asked why. She told me she heard me order the disputed ingredient and charged me accordingly. With a great deal of attitude she refunded me the difference but continued to dispute the order. I asked to speak with a manager and she then informed me she was the manager? Again, she was extremely impudent.
I suggested that she wasn't representing Lassiter's very well and asked to know who she reported to. She informed me that she was going to tell me. She then informed me that the young lady that took my order was "just" a college student and then said, "Ok, we're sorry, we're sorry, we're sorry!" Exasperated, I said, "you're not acting like a manager" and that her attitude was inappropriate ... I had come it to get a cup of coffee and a snack and this was bullshit. She took offense to my comment, told me to leave and informed she was going to call the police. The police! For an order dispute?
What is wrong with this picture? All I wanted was for Lassiter's to fulfill my order and charge me accordingly. What I got was an impudent little girl telling me she had a right to dispute my order and charge me the difference.
Oh, by the way, she was laughing it up with another customer and seemed disturbed that I had questioned her while she was otherwise engaged with this young man. She further said she had a right to have fun while she worked.
I didn't get her name but she was an attractive young blond.
Actually, this was not my first time there and I was supprised and distressed to hear this diatribe coming from her.
Actually, I feel terrible this happened. I only hope her management intercepts this message and works with her attitude. I was sincerely NOT trying to escalate this simple matter ... She apparently thought her job gave her athority rather than responsibility for...
Read moreLocation is in a developing area and looks very nice, interior is very nice, and selection is also nice. When we got to the counter to order the young lady was somewhat friendly and took our orders, I had a spiced Chai tea and my friend ordered bold roast medium coffee and pastry. I received my order within 2 minutes, my friends bold roast didn't come out ever. He asked about the order and she looked confused, he asked about the pastry as well. We had to produce a receipt in order to get the items he requested and paid for. After this happened we found out that none of the bold roast had been made yet and they would have to make it. When he asked if he could just have a different style, she looked confused. All in all, if you want somewhere to surf the web this is a great place. Not a single person to interact with, everyone just staring at a screen. If decent coffee and an ok cup of tea are what you are after, this is the place. If you want an excellent cup of coffee or tea or excellent service go.somewhere else. Maybe I am just not cool or hip enough but I could do without another trip here
EDIT* I have since been back to Lasaters and was very pleased with the quality in service and products. Much better experience 2nd go around. Little busier this time than last, still an internet cafe but this time with excellent service and no botched orders. Try it now but still at your own risk. Chai was much better this go around and my co worker got their order quickly and exactly as ordered. All variations of coffee were available this trip as well with very little wait. I had to increase it from a 3 star to 5 star, that's how much of a difference there was between...
Read moreI’ve never had an issue here, love lasaters, but all I experienced this morning was pure incompetence. Waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru. There were only 2 vehicles in front of me when I arrived. So, yes, it took 45+ minutes to get three cars through. I wouldn’t have cared to drive off and go about my business but there is no way to pull out of the drive thru. Workers did not consider asking people to pull into the parking lot until their order is ready. Normally, they ask people to pull forward. I started to talk to the worker to present this idea to him and he interrupted me stating, “sorry, we’re behind” and shut the window without offering compensation or allowing my idea to be stated. My hot coffee order was cold by the time it was in my hands.
Perhaps management will see this comment. If something of this nature happened again I would never consider going back. Not that one customer matters, but everyone that was behind me and in front of me is assuredly just as frustrated at the incompetence of...
