I came here the other day and I have to say, I loved it! I had heard from my good friend who knows the owners that the Coffee Waffle was just wonderful when she went there! I like to critic new restaurants I go to and I was looking forward to this one for sure. First I would like to mention the exterior of the cafe: the little outdoor patio looked great; the vine-covered lattice fence eve REALLY tied the whole entire place together, and made me feel like I wasn't in the desert anymore. When I walked inside, I was pleasantly surprised to smell a sweet aroma of vanilla cream and maple syrup. Just that scent on the other side of the door is enough to make a person ask for whatever is available! The interior of the cafe was this cute, comfy looking room with plenty of space, and a nice playlist of music in the background. The whole place just had this relaxed and homely feel. All of the furniture and decor had lots of detail. The service I got was exceptional, even before they knew that I would be writing a review. The menu had a great variety of drinks, coffee, waffles, paninis, and salads. There wasn't too much to choose from, nor too little. I ordered what they call a, "Co-ffle" which was a waffle with chocolate, caramel, ice cream and whipped cream. The order came in a short amount of time, and it was delicious! The sizing and amounts of syrups were perfect, and it was just a scrumptious meal (maybe not the healthiest, but yum). The prices here weren't bad either. I have only a few notes to mention: The large chalkboard menu at the counter was amazing, but I feel like the hand-held ones needed more detail on what each order was exactly; The waffles here are delicious, but just a tad too dry; Not a big fan of the fennel in the panini bread, but that's just me; Last, the one strip of fake grass on the wall to hide the electrical cord looked a little odd, so you might want to think about switching that with some kind of string lights like the ones on the ceiling and place more like them on the other walls so that the hiding ones aren't the only wall-lights. That's really all the negative things I can say! The food was great, the interior/exterior were great, the service was great! I had an overall wonderful experience here at the Coffee Waffle, and I look forward to...
Read moreWe arrived a little before 9am and were able to seat our party of 7 (6 plus a baby) Im sure if we’d gone on weekend it be pretty impossible to do. Place is cute but small. Limited options on menu. I say we paid about $15 per person for food and drink. Food came out pretty quickly after ordering.
The only reason I gave 3 stars on service instead of 5 was our waitress. I would suggest working on people skills. As we were paying our bill we asked if we could split into 3 and she made a comment on how she wish we had told her we would be splitting it, we apologized she said it wasn’t the first and wouldn’t be the last. Ok! Then after swiping each of our cards she asked each one of us if we would be leaving a tip OUT LOUD. This was unusual for me. Usually in other places we’ve dined they swipe your card, the total comes out then they hand you their device so you can add tip then you sign, put your number for receipt. But she asked each of us are you leaving a tip, then of course we would say yes she would take us to the tip part and wouldn’t allow us to see our total. When she got to me I asked if I could see how much our total was because this is how I do math in my head. I check total then the tip is 15% I tried explaining to her that by not letting us see how much each of our card was being charged she wasn’t allowing us to tip properly. I mean right underneath I can easily click 15% or 20% to tip but she took us to a blank screen. After I put in my tip, the device asks if you want a receipt and I usually type my number and as I was about to type my number I kid you not this girl yanks the phone out of my hands. I honestly was shocked. We all walked out asking did that just happen. We loved your place and the food but service is truly what makes a customer want to come back. Even my dad who usually says nothing made a comment on...
Read moreLike many residents of Clint, I had high hopes for the reopened and reinvigorated Coffee Waffle brand. The idea of a cozy coffee place in our hometown is exciting. Sadly I was left frustrated with both the food and service.
Food We ordered the churro waffles and the chicken and waffles, and 2 caramel macchiatos for pick up order.
The paper lining in the take-out container bleeds through to the food with red ink and was very unappetizing. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was ok but seemed to be reheated from frozen. They also didn't include the hot sauce as advertised. The waffles themselves were gummy and soggy. I doubt they are freshly made. Better waffles can be made in your local hotel breakfast buffet. Very disappointing since it's the second word in the restaurant name.
The coffees were weak but with good flavor.
Service The staff is very friendly and greet customers warmly. However some training in customer service and organization would be helpful.
Service with pick up orders is poor and disorganized. Staff checked me out for the coffees only and had to be reminded that food was also ordered. When the food came, I was given only one small container of syrup and whipped cream.
Environment The new layout is very spacious and decorated nicely. It's very nice to have some separation from the kitchen now.
I generally like to make an effort to support local businesses. And I accept that often means higher prices than the big chain restaurants. I also know that training up staff and getting organized takes time.
The main item making me less likely to order Coffee waffle is the low quality food at high prices. Even if the meal was sold at half the price, it is...
