Flicks — Restaurant in Clint

I've frequented Flick's since its heyday at the old Fabens location. It holds a special place in my heart because of that but, I'm the first to admit, that there was a couple of rough years not too long ago when the quality and taste dropped dramatically. HOWEVER, I come bearing good news! It has also been a good while since they came back up to snuff.

The crew is very courteous and their customer service is awesome, the place is always clean, and, most importantly, the food is pretty dang good! From pizza, to calzones, to wings, and more, the offerings rarely disappoint. Toppings are delicious and they don't skimp on the cheese...what more can you ask for?

Are their downsides? Sometimes, I'd say. I've encountered some dough that wasn't cooked near as well as it could have, but nothing can be 100% all the time. That's just the nature of the biz. I will say that there is a strange drain smell that occasionally wafts around the place for a few months. There was a spell where it was pretty prevalent but it's largely subsided. I'm assuming some issue with stanky pipes but I'm not clear on that. Did it stop me from eating there? HELL NO, it's Flick's, baby!!!!

All in all, Flicks is run by a good staff and carries on the taste they were known for. Now, if only we didn't live in the digital era so they could bring back the movie rentals. A...

The pizza was OK. I really liked the hot wings. I didn't like the ice machine door falling on my head, from a height of approximately 7'. The door was being held in place with black electrical tape. So, when I was using the ice machine, the door fell off and hit me on the top of my head. No one came to my assistance. As I was leaving, one of the two employees said, "I'm sorry that door fell on you." Additionally, as I looked back at the offending ice machine, I saw that the employee reinstalled the ice machine door with said black electrical tape. I admit I love this place. We just drove in from Phoenix and staying 20 minutes away but it was definitely worth the drive. Our granddaughter also tried it for the first time and loved it and she's one of those finicky teenagers that has to have everything a certain way so the fact that she said it was REALLY GOOD is like winning an Olympic Gold Medal.
