New York Deli Restaurant — Restaurant in Clinton Township

It's nice to write a good review for a restaurant. The service was excellent, staff was very friendly and in good spirits. Everyone looked and acted like they knew what they were doing! Started off by bringing me a bread basket and a small crock of delicious sliced pickles that were nice and chilled. Excellent! I had the Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. Bread was grilled to perfection, sandwich was constructed wonderfully, onion rings were hand battered, cooked beautifully and were not greasy at all. I could tell the grease in their frier was clean and fresh! Corned beef & sauerkraut had great flavor making for a very enjoyable eating experience. I wasn't really sure on the value though. Sandwich was a bit on the smaller side (not tiny, but smaller than what I expected for $14.50) and there were only 5 onion rings, but they were of nice size and were delicious. As I was sitting there contemplating the value, I took a good look around. This restaurant was exceptionally clean (even the table underneath and behind the condiment rack!) and well maintained, the atmosphere was very pleasant and made for a comfortable dining experience. As mentioned the staff were nice, attentive, understood their jobs and performed them well. I've always said I'd pay for good food and service, so in the end I'd have to say it was well worth it. I mean, it did fill me up and anything more would have overfilled my stomach. These guys hit on all cylinders and delivered exactly what I expect when dining out! It's nice to know there are still good food establishments out there. I've for sure had my fill of poor dining experiences (just read some of my other reviews.) Overall, I would highly recommend giving this place a chance, just expect to pay a little more for the excellent service and food you'll receive. I know...

I have been a loyal customer of NY Deli located on Garfield in Clinton Twp now for some 20 years. The deli offers a variety of soups (daily) and meals where one may enjoy a half sandwich and cup of soup or a full sandwich complete with a side dish including tasty pickles.

The owner and his staff makes certain meals are prepared consistently but with an eye toward quality. The owner is present and engaged in the food preparation process and he is visible at various times of the day to oversee his business.

The deli offers a range of items, (hot or cold) good portion size which priced reasonably well with efficient service. Servers Erlid and Kelly managed by Ashleigh work together well to ensure your service is timely and efficient.

Recipes include “homemade” selections of salads and hot/cold entries which are prepared fresh with deserts displayed which offer a variety of choices to finish off your dining experience.

I will add as well, the prices are reasonable and a frequent diner discount is also offered which is certainly a positive feature.

Lastly, there is a “carry-out” menu available for those patrons who have a need to enjoy quality food on the job or at home.

I highly recommend the NY Deli as a place to gather and enjoy to a wonderful meal for lunch and dinner in a casual friendly...

Oh so clean, fresh food, fantastic menu, and friendly staff! This place really impressed me. I really enjoyed eating there with my two girls. Everything we ordered was on point and fresh. Portions were average, which I think is perfect here in America. It's the quality of food however that blew me away the most. Everything was just so well put together, my daughter's hamburger looked like a gourmet burger. The french fries were super fresh and had the perfect amount of crunch. We ordered chicken tenders, a salad, and a BLT. Everything from the bread to the bacon looked extremely fresh and high-quality. The table tops were very clean by my standards, even under the condiments, the table had been cleaned. The whole establishment was just clean. That's important to me when I do these reviews. Our server was super friendly and down-to-earth. They didn't rush the bill over to our table, which drives me absolutely nuts when you go into diners, it seems like they are ushering you out as fast as possible. It was quite an enjoyable experience. I will definitely be coming back...
