Halo Burger Garfield — Restaurant in Clinton Township

We saw the Tik Tok video and decided to go! The location needs to be moved because traffic back up is a hazard on Garfield, plus you have cars waiting to turn in, but can’t cut the line unless someone is kind enough to let you in front of them once the drive thru line moves up. My concern is there is only one way in and out.

Once we got in the parking lot, we parked and went in for the full experience.

We was the 3rd person in line, clearly no one wanted to go in and ordered. We watched the kid at the register take orders and wondered if he was ok or scared of customers. His demeanor didn’t change. It’s our turn to order.

Justin, who took our order was either having a bad day, or needs more customer service training. He didn’t greet us, didn’t smile not even one word. He just stared until we finally ordered. Like he did with the customers in front of us.

It didn’t take long to receive our order.

The hamburgers were good! The fries weren’t fresh, which was weird because as busy as they were the fries didn’t have time to sit. So my next thought is the grease could have been old or needed changing.

As we sat there and ate our food, soon people began to come in to order, so the Manager moved Justin out of the way and took over taking orders. He knew what he was doing as he laughed and talked to the customers.

I have absolutely no clue how this place has a 4.6 star average. Absurd. I ordered nothing but a double burger and a fry, took over 30 minutes where they only had a decent drive-thru line and barely anybody inside the restaurant itself. On top of that, my order was somehow WRONG even though I just ordered a double burger and a fry, instead received a SINGLE burger, so they overcharged me even though on the receipt I ordered a double. Come on, way to pour salt on the wound. The food was not even that worth the wait either, mediocre at best. I understand the place just opened, but I have NEVER seen a kitchen full of clueless employees after visiting countless restaurants. One of the girls in particular kept yelling at the top of her lungs asking what a hot dog brand meant, even though she was only the drive-thru clerk. Any time something went only slightly wrong, the ENTIRE crew was put on a halt. We’ve been waiting to try the location, as they’ve just opened up recently and the lines have been long. We had high hopes due to being a life long customer of the Birch Run location. Very, very disappointed. Sunday evening, very slow, 2 customers in the dining area and 1 in drive through. Burgers were barely warm, you can tell they were precooked then reheated, lukewarm at best. Seasoning was way, way off.

I can fully understand par cooking burgers during the rush and when lined up. The store was dead.

Part of the magic of Halo Burger is fresh from the grill burgers, frankly, McDonalds has fresher burgers than what we had today.

And .25 for a cup for water? That’s just silly.

Very disappointed, won’t be back to this location. I’m still a lifelong customer of the Birch Run store, and stop in every trip up north.
