I visited on a Thursday evening between 5 and 6 pm. The parking lot was nearly full but I was willing to wait in order to find a good restaurant. I travel and work road construction so I hadn't had a good meal all day. I'm glad I didn't turn away from the full parking lot. I was seated immediately. My waiter was extremely attentive. While taking the drink order, he asked if I'd like queso blanco or guacamole. I was interested in seeing the menu so I'd forgotten all about ordering queso for my chips. Thanks for the reminder! The food arrived very quickly. He asked if I'd like more chips and the meal was out seconds after he brought me more chips. The food was awesome. Very fresh, and it tasted amazing. I'm a wuss when it comes to spicy food. The Choripollo had just enough kick to it. On top of everything else, the prices were very modest. I would have happily paid more for the great meal and fast and friendly service. My waiter was a young man, probably high school age. I didn't ask his name, but I was impressed by his service. It looked like he had a couple friends dining at a nearby table, but he didn't slack on his tables needs. An older gentleman came around as I was finishing my meal. He asked how I was doing and if I needed anything. I assume it was an owner. He was very friendly. As I was leaving, I was greeted by nearly every member of the staff and told to have a good evening. Other restaurants take notice.. this is how it's done! I'll definitely be back! I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant.
Service: great. Food: amazing. Speed: much quicker...
Read moreSince this restaurant has no other social media presence.. I'm going to post the review I wrote on my own Facebook page here (since I can't tag them). They really need to hear this or in this case read.
I visited last month. It's not fiction that you can find good tacos throughout the State of #Illinois . While that is true for this restaurant, where it suffers greatly is it's lack of authenticity. The tacos I received were served in a flour tortilla similar to what is found at your local Taco Bell, on top of that cilantro and onions (you know? What you find in an authentic Mexican Taco) came at an extra charge. The employees at this restaurant were shocked that I even requested as such as they were talking amongst themselves in Spanish about it. The sauce which is also sold separately wasn't spicy and is no different than the salsa you would get with tositos (again, more Americanized fare) The steak was also just seared and steamed vs grilled. Here comes the biggest sin of all... ready?
The corn tortillas they offer are hard shells similar to taco bell! 😫. It's this lack of authenticity that really holds this restaurant back from excelling and that's a lowdown dirty shame. If they stepped up the authenticity just a hair, I feel that they can help the state of #Illinois reach the top position in cuisine rather than being held in the...
Read moreHad a craving for mexican food so went to this establishment to try and satisfy my hunger. I had gone with a guest and we were seated promptly as we walked in the door. Resturant was fully booked so I became excited to be served fresh food. When we were seated we received a complimentary basket of chips and salsa. The chips were cold and oil soaked but nothing salsa couldn't fix (salsa was brought out in a flower vase with two bowls to pour and share found that to be very odd). We got drinks and a requested cheese dip very shortly after being seated and placed orders within 5 minutes of arriving. I ordered chile relleno with rice and beans. Food came out very quickly and looked okay but smothered in sauce and was bland. My chile was cold and wet in the center. The side of rice and beans was your a typical side that's nothing to write home about. All and all they can crank out a fully booked restuarant in record time but the food is mediocre at best. At the end of the day it gets...
