The restaurant is definitely small and local, which is great for visitors. We actually went two days in a row, because it’s really the only local breakfast place around. My boyfriend loved everything he got- he was a big fan!
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars, is because on our first morning they had a wait list, while TONS of tables were cleaned off and open. We had been on the list for about 15 minutes when a family of 4 came in and kept hassling the waitress to seat them, so she skipped our names and sat them. After that, we still waited another 15-20 minutes for her to come out and ask if we wanted the table that was about 10 feet away from us the entire time we waited, and proceeded to tell us she was a little disorganized that day. That was just a little frustrating- otherwise, she was very friendly and attentive once we ordered.
I didn’t like the food so much- I felt my pancake was dry and crumbly and my eggs were severely undercooked and milky. The only thing that was good was the fresh fruit I had as a side. The second day I tried something from the lunch menu and was wildly disappointed. I order a melt and mentioned I was allergic to onions, and that I couldn’t have them on the sandwich- but the waitress didn’t think to mention the chicken salad I was getting had onions in it. Thankfully, I checked the sandwich when she brought it over. She did offer to get me something else, so I just got grilled chicken. The chicken was very chewy, and had fat/tendons running through the entire sandwich. I ate my fruit and left the sandwich. The waitress was very friendly, and we did buy some of the baked treats on our way out, and those were very good!
Not a bad place if you love breakfast- it’s just not my favorite. And I understand we can’t always control things we can’t see on the surface when making chicken, so I’m not that upset about that. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, and it’s definitely cozy and local. If we ever visit again, we’d...
Read moreFood here is awesome and service is top notch. I personally can't give 5-stars as the early hours for breakfast during the week don't work for me: I like my breakfast at anytime I want breakfast, even after 3 PM. But we have enjoyed the fresh foods here the very few times we did eat here. As you are always served so much of this good food, there is never room for dessert from their bakery and you can't come back here later in the day just for dessert. They say you can take it home with you - but this is Florida and it is typically quite hot out there in the early afternoon... The breakfast menu selections here are definitely interesting, but do I really want my hash brown potatoes inside my Omelette when I am also getting potatoes with it? Of course you get to choose which, and how many items you do want in your very own Omelette creation. And this is only one of the menu items. Checking out at the bakery counter, I am always too full to think of dessert at this time. Ah, if only you could come here in the evening just for dessert... BTW, pay attention to the hours here and make sure you get here well before closing as we have been turned away when we got here 20 minutes before closing time. Thus the 3-stars. But we do live nearby, and I will update my rating when and if it...
Read moreSeriously! Onions all over my French toast and my wife's pancakes. That wasn't the worst actually the service was the worst.
We were there right when they opened. The person who opened seemed less than happy that a few people were eagerly waiting try to this highly recommended breakfast restaurant. We were seated. She gave us ample time to decide. The food came out relatively quickly.
My French toast had an over bearing smell of cinnamon. Some how other than all the onions and garlic caked on the bread it was flavor less. The bread was like sponge cake. Terrible!
My wife had the pancakes also covered with onions. One side of the cakes was very tough and the other side was raw uncooked batter.
We let the waitress know of the issue and she offered to make new stuff, let us know they cook everything on the same grill and could still have onions or anything left from the last meal in your meal.
Then she let us know we needed to pay $6 for the half cup of black coffee we drank.
Unacceptable...
