Oasis Shaved Ice was a bit of a mixed bag. Unfortunately, the shaved ice itself was disappointing — it was shaved too finely and melted almost instantly, even before we could sit down at the indoor table. I ordered the passion fruit flavor, which turned out to be overly sweet with none of the tanginess I expected. The lime portion, thankfully, had a better balance with a tangier, less sugary taste.
My wife wasn’t thrilled with her choices either — wedding cake and cream soda — both were overly sweet and melted just as fast.
We decided to give their cookies a shot. The staff recommended the Coconut Chocolate Macadamia cookie (introduced as “the crack of Cocoa Beach”), but it fell flat for us — served cold and just not enjoyable. However, after letting the others warm up in the sun, we were pleasantly surprised. The Peanut Butter & Raspberry Jam and the Strawberry Lemonade cookies were absolutely delicious — we’d definitely order those again.
Overall, there were a few bright spots, but not quite enough to guarantee a...
Read moreI can't recommend this place enough. I wish I lived nearby though my wallet is grateful as I would be here all the time. Vicki is amazing and you can see her love and passion and ultimately you can taste it too. She shared with me she's been doing this for 17 years. I got the super sour pink lemonade and pineapple shaved ice stuffed. While the stuffed option is awesome I wouldn't do it again with any Sour flavor as for me the sweetness counter balances the sour. Though I am glad I tried the soft serve as it was delicious. I wish I had asked about pomegranate before I had my order. When I did she did say she had some and I was so grateful she whipped some together so I could sample it because it's one of my favorite flavors and her syrup is the best pomegranate flavored anything I have tried!!! I would have had a whole order of it and been a super happy camper. I will definitely reach out and order some of the syrup in the future as she does ship the syrups. I will definitely stop by every time...
Read moreI grew up in New Orleans and have been eating snowballs...that’s what we call them...for 46 years. As a kid, I worked in a local stand and served over 10K snowballs during two summers. Without any exaggeration, I am a expert when it comes to reviewing shaved ice or snowballs.
The extracts are authentic without any after taste. Ice is fluffy, light and handcrafted...literally. Owner does not use the standard funnel topper because it could melt the texture of the snow. She layers the snowball to ensure flavor is distributed in perfect proportions between top and bottom. The first taste and last sip are equally satisfying.
If all this wasn’t enough, the service rivals any Cocoa Beach establishment. Seriously, if snowballs contained all the nutritional value, I wouldn’t eat anywhere else.
Ms Vicki’s southern charm and hospitality are just as addictive as her snowballs. Trust me...you won’t be...
