Kelly Slater Statue — Attraction in Cocoa Beach

I have never met Kelly Slater but still feel pride in his legendary accomplishments. As far as I know, he has always conducted himself with class and dignity. This statue is a great local acknowledgement of him and of his surfing career. There are several minor drawbacks to the statue and they are all related to location. You have to park across the street and cross A1A to go there. That is a very busy stretch of road and you must be very careful. The second issue is that any photographs of the statue will almost certainly have a cluttered background. About the only thing you can do to avoid that clutter is to sit on the ground in front of the statue aiming your camera upward toward the statue. I give 5 stars for Kelly Slater's statue, basically he put Cocoa Beach in the map. I love the facts that the statue is located at an intersection everyone could see it. I feel there is the need for a new elevated bigger statue, I would love to see him surfing high and tall. He is surfing's GOAT like Maradona in Napoles He deserves a way bigger and taller statue.
