One of the worst experiences at a restaurant. Our group of about 20 locals went to see Abby Owens (who is an amazing artist!). First, we were told that we had to order at the bar for any "dine in" service (no table service)...ok, inconvenient but ok. Next, they could not run a tab for us (we had to pay each time we came up for a drink). Horrible policy for a bar. If it wasn't for Abby Owens, we would have left then...remember, there are 20 of us drinking, eating and gambling in a restaurant on a Sunday at 3:00 during a holiday weekend...a restaurant largely empty if not for us. Clearly by the looks on the faces of the people behind the bar, this is a management issue. Because the patio area was EMPTY and there were no tables to accommodate our group (and we called ahead regarding the number in our group), we asked if we could move the tables and were told "whatever you need." So we moved two tables together.
About an hour into our afternoon, the "management issue" Fred comes to our table of 20, all with food and drink, enjoying the music. This manager Fred chastised the entire group of local professionals for moving the tables. His tone and demeanor were the most unprofessional I have experienced in the hospitality industry. After advising him that we were told that we could do so, he proceeded to tell me that I was not telling the truth...what? Wait, what? After each of us spent about $100 each with NO TABLE SERVICE. The bar staff looked like deer caught in headlights. He has these two guys at the end of the bar chastising them while the bar is being ignored.
I could go on but I will just say that we will NEVER go back to this place. Go see Abby Owens if you have the opportunity, but do not do it at Sorrisi. Beyond disappointed. This "manager" Fred should NEVER be behind a bar or in...
Read moreLong time guest of the Casino thought we would try it for a pre Valentine's Day meal. I've had great experiences atthe Deli and N Y. Steak. Sadly..Sorrisi disappoints. Had a 7:00 reservation, arrived early Sat at the bar. It was a concert night, so probably as crowded as I've ever seen. No worries. We were seated promptly at 7:00. We were told probably be another 1/2 or so before we would see a server, again no worries. All the staff looked like they were in the "weeds". Probably would have been a good idea before hand to add staff in anticipation of the guest size. Server showed up in about a half hour, we had adult beverages so we ordered a meatball appetizer and bread. Appetizers arrived about a half hour later. Bread was cold, meatballs were large and tasty but very light on a very marginal Marinara sauce. We decided to split an entree...Chicken Parm over spaghetti. Getting close to around 8:30and our server asked if we wanted our order to go. We declined. Again no worries. Our Chicken Parm came around 9:00 p.m. Very disappointed. Tiny amount of thin spaghetti, ckenken was tough and burnt. Again the Marinara was watery and sparse. We passed on dessert, got our check and left. Maybe on a less crowded night our experience might have been a little different. Would be hard to recommend on the basis of...
Read moreOur meal at Sorrisi featured great food, good service, average prices, but our lungs were forced to endure all the second hand smoke we inhaled. Except for the Pavilion area, the entire casino is full of smoke filled air. Smoking is permitted on the main casino floor and this is the consequence. We knew that, but still wanted to try Sorrisi. We really underestimated just how much smoke there was in the air. Of the various restaurant options in Seminole Coconut Creek casino, this may be the most reasonable for the budget conscious diner, as the deli is overpriced for deli food, and the steak house is super expensive. Sorrisi serves Italian food at a reasonable price, in an upscale setting, so that's why we tried it. The salmon dinner was excellent, too notch in every way. The chicken parm was also very good. Service was very good to begin with, but as the place filled up and our waitress had to attend to more tables, it got slow. Still, we appreciated the hustling she did get to us as quickly as she could. The back and forth with the credit card payment was really slow though. Personally, I don't like when a server disappears with my card, and worse yet when the card is out of my hands for a long period of time. Management should adopt a more modern payment system where the customer pays...
